Chapter 5

Darius POV

I've been really excited for the last week and today is the day that Kenzie's parents and I fly up to Jersey to see Kenzie an Paris. I heard my brother was in jail up there but I don't know if he got out or not.

The few times I've talked to Kenzie she told me that her and Paris go and visit him from time to time. I was totally against because he tried to kill her and he tried to kill me. Kenzie also told me that when we go up there she wants us to meet the new people in her life.

She sounds really happy. I really wish things could've been different with Kenzie and maybe her and I could have been together and she wouldn't have moved away. But things happen for a reason.

Me on the other hand. I started preaching at McKenzie's dads church. I really like it. I actually met someone. Her name is Julie and she is so sweet. She's a godly woman and when I met her she showed her independence, that's what made me fall in love with her. We are engaged to be married in about a month. She's actually 3 months pregnant. She's going to come to Jersey with us.

We all arrived at the airport at around the same time. The flight there was peaceful. Not many people are flying in and out of the state this time of day.

When we got there we followed the address Kenzie gave us in her GPS. I tried to act calm because I didn't want Julie to start getting suspicious. But I actually really nervous.
