McKenzie's POV
I've been working all day to prepare me and Paris and the house for my family coming down. My family is so picky and use want take sure that everything is perfect. I cleaned the whole house. I made sure Paris looked spotless. I know my mom will say something if she's not. I also made sure I could take time off from work. I don't want to leave anyone alone with Paris. Especially because Kaija is gone.
I also went shopping for Paris because her birthday is in 2 days. I think my family might be staying here long enough for the party. It isn't going to be much. Since we don't really know that many people here. Just other young moms I met at the park we take Paris to. They all said they'd come.
Me and Paris were sitting on the couch watching some show about making words. I was glad that parks was all into it because if she wasn't she would've gotten dirty by now. I'm actually really nervous for everyone to come up here. I know it'll be awkward with me and Darius, I know my mom is going to try and make me move back home.
All of a sudden we heard a knock on the door. Paris was still zoned out watching TV. My mom pulled me into a huge hug. Suddenly I regretted all the arguing we did when I was with Cam. She was right. After that, Darius hugged me. Then I noticed this girl standing behind them. I looked around Darius and said, "Hello...." Darius seemed to snap back to reality and he looked like me with sort of a I'm Sorry face.
I don't know why the face. Darius is my daughters uncle nothing more and definitely nothing less. "Kenzie this is Julie. Julie this is Kenzie." I decided that i would do the mature thing and pull her into a hug. Everyone seemed surprised but this is my fresh start. I don't like negativity anymore. I noticed she was pregnant and said, "Congrats on the baby you guys."
Finally my dad spoke. "Speaking of baby, Can we go inside so i can see my granddaughter for the first time?" I opened the door wide and they walked into my house. "Paris say hello this is Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Darius and Ms.Julie", I said turning off the TV so that i could get her full attention. Darius picked her up and held her like his life depended on it. It warmed my heart to see her bonding with her real family not her play family we have up here. I took everyone's luggage to their rooms and we sat and talked.
"Later on tonight I have a therapy session planned for everyone. Cameron will be there." i said trailing off. "WHAT!", they all seemed to yell in unison. "Paris go to your room for a second please.", i said sending her off. One thing i don't want is her getting a negative connotation of her father. She deserves a fair chance at deciding her opinion about him for herself.
"I feel like this is the first step to us rebuilding a family. I know i messed stuff up for everybody so im not putting the blame on anybody but myself. But if you guys want to be in me and Paris' life, you will have to deal with Cameron. I'm not saying we are together. But he Is her father.", i said specifically looking at my father and Darius.
"Okay sweetie, WE ALL respect your wishes. You are an adult and i want to be a part of my grand babies life. She's so beautiful.", my mom said. Looking at my dad. Not to even mention the fact that he hasn't spoke to me since he got here.
