How I Write

Goodbye my old friend
The ink has run dry in you
My pen once more died

I carry a book
Empty for the words I write
Small but loved by me

It starts with an emotion, a phrase, a topic
For example, maybe somewhere it's tropic
Where the sun sets beautifully
Then make it turn dastardly
When a hurricane hits
That's when the idea turns to bits
Then bring it back to the calm
But now they are more cautious of the palm
