Sweet Nuthin (A 1D Fanfic)

Chapter Three:

Billards Creek

The second the bell rung I was already out of my seat. I couldn't wait to see Li. I grabbed my books and ran like a stampede was chasing me. My feet pounded into the dusty pavement. When I reached the tree, I was sweating like crazy. No sign of Li. So I climbed the tree. Then I scooted myself on the brach that hung over Billards Creek. Then I removed my shoes and threw them onto the bank. And I waited. A slight movement behind me caused me to jump and next thing I knew I was falling into the creek. The currents swirled around me as I drifted down slowly. I was afraid of water and it had been stupid to climb over the water. Now I was running out of air and I slowly shut my eyes. This is the end. Then I felt a strong arm wrap around my waist. It pulled me upwards and soon we had reached the surface. I spluttered and coughed but I couldn't see anything. Nothing. I felt my eyes opening and closing but all I saw was black. I reached out to touch the other person.

"Abby? Can't you see me?" Asked a voice. LI!!!!!!

"I can't see anything! Li I'm scared!" I said. I heard him shift beside me.

"This is all my fault. I did this." He said.

"Wait. How is this your fault?" He sighed.

"I was going to scare you but I didn't know you were gonna fall. And now your blind. You must have had your eyes open when you hit the water and that caused too much water to get into your eyes. That causes blindness." He said choking out the last sentence. I realized I was blind. I'm blind. I will never see another sunset. I will never see my wedding and I won't even get to see my first baby.

"It's okay, Li." I said. I could hear his hair dripping into the water. Or it was me crying. Then I just broke down. I sobbed. I wish I could have seen his face when he did this but I couldn't. He softly touched my cheek with his hand. It was soft and I leaned into it.

"I'm so sorry." He whispered. I reached up to where I thought his face was and felt around until I found his lips. They were soft and I leaned in. Our lips connected and I could feel the world shifting around us. His hand went into my hair and his other hand pulled me closer to him. Our bodies touched and the heat was noticeable. This kiss was my first and it was better than I had imagined it. He pulled away to breathe. I couldn't tell if he wanted me to kiss him or not.

"That was amazing, Abby." He said. And for the first time in years I grinned.
