The wizard studied the runes on the old stones. Some of them were as old as he was, but most were older. A mountain loomed over them in the distance, dark and bleak. The stars twinkled down from above, knowing what he had to do. As the large towers of stone loomed over him, he looked up.

The ancient dragon stepped up to the circle. He eyed the wizard who was standing in the middle. The wizard was just as old, and as he began circling the old wizard, he spoke.

"So we meet again." The dragon said in such a low rumbling voice, as dragon's always get as they age, that it shook the ground. "What do you wish?" The dragon asked inquiringly.

The old wizard looked up at the old but still powerful dragon. He stood up to his full height, and looked at him straight in the eye. To look at a dragon straight in the eye was a dangerous thing. IT proved love between two. The wizard and the dragon had known each other for almost 3 centuries, since the birth of them both. For every era there is a dragon and a wizard, destined to do great things.

But both the dragon and wizard were at the end of their lives. Now was the time, now, was the greatest act, of all history. It was time, for the first prophecy.

"I have seen the future. I have seen what lies ahead for your race." The wizard replied in a strong, crackly voice. "But you and I, we are not destined for this. You and I... we near the end of our lives. We must join together, in a last effort of our lives." The wizard bowed his head, then looked back up at the dragon.

The dragon and the wizard, looked at each other with all knowing eyes. If you are brave enough to look a dragon in the eyes, then you both can see into each other's heart.

"The prophecy." The dragon said simply, but the meaning of the word was not simple. The earth shook, the ground rumbled, and the wizard leaped on the top of the dragon as quickly as he could. The dragon made a strong effort, and flew into the sky for the last time. He roared and they set off for the mountain. The dragon dove his last dive, and landed gracefully on the top of the mountain.

The wizard slid off the dragon, and looked at the tall stone plate, that stood upright on the top of the mountain. A prophecy must be written with blood. The wizard took out a dagger, and faster than a normal human being could see, threw it at a nearby ram. The dagger slit the throat, and the ram died instantly. The wizard brought the lamb over to the stone slab, where the dragon had prepared the stone with fire, the thinned edges of the stone black from the fire. The wizard took the blood from the ram and poured it into a bowl. He dipped his finger into the bowl, and started writing. The dragon dipped his tail into the bowl, and began drawing runes, in the dragon tongue.

As they went on drawing and writing, the strength of the dragon and the wizard began to fade. When they were finished, the dragon roared one last time, the fire drying and staining the blood onto the rock, never to disappear until the prophecy was fulfilled. The wizard, took his staff, and stabbed it into the center of the stone. It glowed a beautiful blue and red light, as it took the power from the wizard, into the prophecy. The staff broke, and the wizard fell.

The dragon, who's strength was already spent, caught the wizard with his tail, as he fell. The dragon and the wizard curled up together, and the wizard took his last breath. The dragon, overcome with emotion, attempted to roar, but his strength wasn't enough. He let out a large breath of air, and sank to the ground.

The only thing left was the runes in the dragon language, and the writing in the human language.

When who shall see this stone, the last dragon,

but yet the first.

A young girl shall come along,

the only way, but for the curse.

Together they will find a way to save a certain race,

But if the curse proves true then another one will chase.

The curse is if these two, shall fall together in their will,

They shall find it much harder, this prophecy, to fulfill.
