I paced in my room at the Capital. Worries banged against the sides of my skull like a hammer. I was in a silver skirt and a purple tank top, with little one inch black heels. Effie wanted me to dress up and this was as much as she was going to get. I waited for her in my room as I paced, searching for a strategy.

A knock on my door startled me, I yelped a little and composed myself quickly, brushing down stray hairs on my pinstraight hair and brushing down the front of my skirt.

"Come in." I said after clearing my throat.

Effie walked in not even hesitating and stared at me intensely. She huffed disapprovingly, "No, no no his will simply not do." she grabbed my arm and dragged me to the closet, before rummaging through it like a manic, ripping dresses and skirts and blouses from there hangers and throwing them over her shoulder and on to the bed.

"Effie? what are you doing? your making a mess!" I said, but like I really cared, I thought sarcastically.

"I'm teaching you how to dress properly, youre meeting the Males today and you must make yourself presentable" she pulled a grey silk dress, that was tight around the bust and cinched at the waist then flowed down the floor.

"Ah, grey this will bring out those amber eyes of yours." Effie held it up to my body, "And bring up those girls." she added with a wink

"Oh god, Effie." my faced flushed and I crossed my arms over my chest, ive been known for developing early.

"Don't be ashamed of your body, dear." she uncrossed my arms and stared at me in the eyes, before handing me the dress and walking out.

"Be ready in 15, the elevator arrives and takes us all the the Meeting room." she said over her shoulder and left me standing in a mess of clothes.

I pulled off the clothes I had on and pulled the dress over my head, I kept the shoes I had on. I walked out to find Peeta in a bright blue dress shirt on with jeans and converse, his hair slicked back. His eyes immediately fell on me and then down to my chest then back to my eyes. There was no hiding his smirk.

"My eyes are on my face." I snapped before  walking to the elevator where Effie nodded approvingly at me and opening the doors for us.

"After we exit the elevator girls will line up according to District on the right side of the room and boys will do the same on the left side." a emotionless female voice on the intercom said as we neared the bottom of the elevator trip.

When the doors opened I immediately went to the right side, trying to avoid Peeta's gaze. The room was filled with girls in colorful dresses and the other side with the men in basically the same thing: jeans and a dress shirt, although only a handful actually looked good in it, the others looked like boys trying on their daddys clothes.

"Hey your Evermore right?" a redhead asked as she walked up to me, she wore a light blue cocktail dress but she was straight as a twig, it made her look awkward.

"Yes, and you are?" I raised an eyebrow, but softened my expression when I saw the worried, paranoid glances she kept throwing at the other side of the room. She was as scared as the rest of us.

"Ana, im from District 5." she held up her hand, indicating each finger.

"12." I nodded at her.

"Yeah we know, everyone knows. No one can really forget the reaction you had. Most of us just cry or walk silently, you really fought for those last words." she smiled small at me

"I had to have some kind of a goodbye." I smiled at her

"That's ju-"

"Line up according to District!" a officer ordered interrupting Foxface, my nickname for my kinda-friend.
