Two hours later I'm lugging all my stuff out of the trunk of my Aunts car.
I slept the whole way here due to my lack of sleep lastnight.
"A little help?" I say to my cousin Jade as I lift heavy suitcases off the ground. She just grunts and keeps on walking. I didn't really expect help but it would have been nice. Jade is only nice when she wants to be. But we love eachother anyway. We used to be like bestfriends growing up, but we went our separate ways when we reached High School."Okay thanks for your help Jade!" I yelled back at her.
"Anytime Carry, I'm always here to help" Jade said with an annoying smile that had sarcasm written all over it. Thankfully Aunt Vi helped me get my stuff to my new room.
By the time I unpacked and had everything all comfortable and organized it was time to eat.
"Carry, dinner is ready. be down in five okay?" I heard my Aunt call up the stairs. I took my shoes off, wearing only my socks and ventured down the stairs and into the kitchen where my Aunt and Jade were sat at the table. Before I even took my seat the front door opened.
"Carrrryyy" My Uncle Ron literally ran at me with his arms opened wide and hugged me."Hey, girly, how have you been? look at you, you're all grown up" he said with excitement clear in his voice.
"I'm doing great, but really uncle Ron it has only been a year since you saw me" I said still in his embrace.
"Oh it doesn't matter. You're still just as pretty" and with those words Jade laughed one of those "Yeah right" laughs. Thankfully Uncle Ron caught on and tossed a bread roll from the table at her head, making us all laugh. even Jade. we sat at the table eating dinner and talking and catching up.
"What are your plans for the summer girls?" Uncle Ron asked, assuming Jade and I were going to hangout this summer.
"I'm just going to hang with my friends and party. you know, the usual." Jade shrugged."And I'm probably not" I said before my Uncle said anything else.
"Jade, why don't you take Carry to hangout with your friends? I'm sure she'll find someone with something in common with her"
"Not likely" Jade and I both say at the same time.
The rest of dinner went by quick and with little talking. I helped my Aunt wash the dishes and then went up to my room. I sat on my bed and called Blake.
"Hello?"
"Hey"
"Oh, hey Carry"
"What's up?
"Packing for summer camp, ugh. what are you doing?" he asked not sounding very interested.
"Just sitting on my bed. I dont know what I'm going to do all summer. I might hangout with Jade tonight if she's nice enough." I said actually considering spending time with her.
"Well have fun, but I have to get going. I'll text you whenever I can"
"Okay, bye"
"bye"
I ended our call and sat back on my bed. I was hoping we could just talk the night away or something but I guess not.
I heard a knock at my door and before I even answered, Jade barged in.
"Hey, you wanna go to a party with me tonight?, you don't have to but mom said I at least have to offer to spend time with you." Jade said while twirling a piece of her hair between her fingers. She was dressed in a tight black dress with black leggings and heels. her lips were painted red and her hair was curled. She was obviously serious about her partying cause she was definitely dressed to kill.
"Um, thanks, but I'd rather stay home and, uh, read or something" I said trying to get out of the invitation.
"Read? Carry it's Friday night and your going to read?"
