It was time for one of my last classes of the day: Economic with the one and only Coach Finstock. I sat behind Stiles and Allison ended up sitting behind Scott much to his dismay.
I sat quietly in my chair doodling in my notebook but still listening in to Scott and Allison’s conversation.
“I switched lab partners.” Allison began
Scott decided to play dumb “To who?”
“To you silly, if that’s alright.”
He stayed completely silent avoiding the obvious.
“Scott is something wrong?”
He shakes his head “No I just don’t want to bring your grade down.”
“Maybe I can help bring your grade up.”
In front of me I could just tell that Stiles was annoyed by Scott’s and Allison’s conversation, to be perfectly honest without even looking at him I knew that he was rolling his eyes.
I lean close to his ear “Is someone jealous of Scott?”
Stiles turns his head and sends me a dirty look “I am NOT jealous of Scott.”
“It’s okay Stiles, just admit that you are in need to some female attention…”
As much as it pained me to say it, girls should be falling all over Stiles. He is funny, sweet, smart, and has amazing eyes that look like honey. He was the type of guy that any girl would be lucky to have fall in love with her, and it stung that the one girl that Stiles does fall for is to oblivious to see how fantastic he is!
I get drug out of my thoughts by the coach slamming a stack of books down on to his desk.
“Okay, Okay settle down. Who would like to give a summary of the reading from last night?” He began looking around the room and then his eyes land on Scott “Mr. McCall would you like to give us the summary?”
From the look on Scotts face I could tell that he didn’t do the reading.
“Uh, the reading? Last nights?”
The coach apparently could also tell that Scott didn’t do the reading “How about the reading of the Gettysburg Address?”
“What?” Scott asked clearly confused.
Coach leans back on his desk and other students began to laugh “It’s sarcasm, are you familiar with the term sarcasm McCall?”
Scott looks back at Stiles and I for some help with the situation but we all knew that if we did anything it would just make it worse.
“Yes I am very familiar with sarcasm…”
Stiles and I exchange high fives at Scotts come back.
The coach must have gotten frustrated “Did you do the reading or no?”
Scott shakes his head no.
Then the coach walks up to Scott’s desk “You are averaging a D in this class, you know I can’t keep you on the team with those grades buddy.”
Stiles looks back at me and the shows me the phone with Scotts heart rate on it. His heart rate was rising and FAST.
“How about you summarize what you read last night? A blog? Or the R-Rated warning on your favorite website you visit every night? The back of a cereal box? ANYTHING YOU HAVE READ EVER!” The coach continued.
