I let out a loud sigh as I try to stand. I don't think my legs will ever be able to work the same as they did. I tried to stand again only to find my self collapsing, my nurse Gabby helped me up.
I have been in rehab for 6 months and I have made no progress. My surgery to save my leg went fine and the doctors said that in 4 months of rehab I should be back on my feet.
I was overcome with mixed emotions. Anger, sadness, fear all came crashing in. I broke down in tears for the 3rd time this week. Gabby did her best to comfort me but it was no use. I was broken inside.
She wheeled me back to my room. She helped me on my bed and left me alone in the quiet room.
It was the same as every other depressing hospital room. A small bathroom in the corner. A large window on the left side. The floor green with grey dots. The walls a depressing light grey.
As I stared around the room, wishing I was in my own bed, my thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door following a tall, skinny woman. She was wearing green scrubs they were the same as the nurses.
Her hair was in a knotty ponytail. Her green eyes looked exhausted. As she came closer she introduced herself.
"Hello Megan, I'm Chloe. I'm here to check your blood sugar levels are okay." She said in a friendly tone. "Where is Gabby?" I asked. "She had to go home for a family emergency but she will be back later." She said quickly.
She began her work with some computer thing. It beeped loudly 3 times. She pressed a few more buttons then left the room. All she said was " I'll be back in a minute."
As the minutes passed the night creeped quickly in. I rested my eyes, I was exhausted. I fell into a deep sleep. I hadn't slept this well in what seemed liked forever.
