Her mother was sitting on the couch reading a newspaper and drinking coffee.
"Good Morning." Jasmine mumbled.
Her mother threw an eye roll her way in return.
Jasmine cracked two eggs in the pan and began cooking them. As they cooked, she got some pre-cooked bacon out and threw it in the microwave to warm it up.
"Have you done the laundry?" Her mother asked from the other room.
"No, not yet." Jasmine replied quietly.
"Well why haven't you done it yet b***h?" Her mother said, irritation rising quickly.
"B-because I just woke up." She sputtered, hoping not to arouse her mother's anger further.
Her mother came out into the kitchen and shouted, "Well get it f***ing done already, idiot!" And threw her coffee mug at Jasmine.
Jasmine had just enough time to doge the cup before her mother continued, "I don't want to see your sorry face around this house when I get home. And it better. Be. Spotless! Do you hear me?" She yelled louder.
Her mother turned toward the doorway just before she replied, "Yes, mother." as Jasmine spoke just above a whisper.
"What was that?!" Her mother screamed, before whipping back around and slapping Jasmine strait across the face.
"I-I love you mother!" She said with strength and hidden anger, while holding her cheek in pain.
"Good. And it better be all I hear out of your sad little mouth." She said before stomping out of the kitchen to get ready for work.
