Chapter 16: I saw it...

**Megan's POV**

I'd gotton over the Harry with another girl thing, it was an edit, how stupid of me!!

Anyways.....

After Marcel and I got off the plane, we went back to my mum's house, and well, she was alive.

I mean, I expected her to be dead, but no, she was alive...... But that's the thing isn't it?

Was.... She WAS alive, she WAS my mother, she WAS my family, she WAS my guardian, she WAS my role model, she WAS a fighter..... But now, she's gone..... And I SAW IT...

**Two hours earlier**

Marcel and I sped into the house from the driveway, he further behind no thanks to his athesma.

I made it into her bedroom, and what I saw was scarring.

My mother lay, pale, dull, and lifeless in her bedroom with walls of magenta, floor of navy blue, and curtains to match. Bed of white and lavander, throw pillows black, covered in lace. Her caramal hair fanned out on her pillows, arms on either side of her body, fingers curled around an object in both hands. A letter, and a box.

Taking the letter, I slowly read it, a little scared of what it might say.

My dearest Megan,

I realize that I've not been there for you recently, when you needed me most, and I'm sorry. Knowing you forgive me, I'll move on. I must tell you something, very important now Megan, read closely.

The man that hurt us, the man in prison for what he did, he's not your reat father.

What? He's not?!

He's your step-father, your true father, his name is Daniel, Daniel Long. He's nearly fourty now, and has light grey hair, and blue, yes, blue eyes. He lives in Woodbury, Georgia.

I'm SO proud of you Meg, you're so brave, so strong, going through everything you have. What your step dad did, Alex, even when the lads left you were SO strong.
