How could this happen?

Four months, three weeks, six days, and nine hours later, it was official, Megan was my wife, and I couldn't be happier.

Megan, MY Megan, the one I've known for the last five years, was finally mine.

Zayn's been off with Perrie, and we haven't seen him in a good month. Niall got himself a girl, Carter, and Liam and Danielle are engaged. I couldn't be happier for my lads either.

But even in the happiest times, something is bound to go wrong. How could this happen? My love, my poor sweet love, lay unconcious in her hospital bed, eyes glued shut, and chocolate hair strewn about on the pillows.

Her pale skin hidden by lavender hospital gown, and baby blue blankets. Her makeup faded, disappearing from sight.

Her nose just barely crinkled, and raven lashes pressed against rosy cheeks.

She was driving home, from the grocery, when a drunk driver, ran the stop sign, and rammed into her car.

He walked away, with minor injuries, but went straight to jail.

Addison lay in my arms, still unable to speak, eyes clouded with tears as her tiny fingers grip the cold ones of her mothers, looking sadder than I've ever seen.

"Shh baby, momma's gonna make it out of this, I promise. Daddy isn't going anywhere, he'll be here for you when momma isn't." I whisper.

"Harry.... Come on. Hand her here love." Carter whispers, taking Addi from my arms.

My now unnocupied arms fall limp onto my lap, as I watch Meg's chest rise and fall. 'I need you to wake up baby, I need you so bad.' My mind screams, but there's nothing.

Nothing but silence, in this empty shell that once was Harry Styles, body engulfed in ceramic tile and white walls, ears ringing from the sound of the heart monitor.

But only four words on my mind, a simple sentence.

How could this happen?
