#ProjectInnovation is a cross between a campaign and a blog. Not only is it to encourage writers to put their own twists on tired cliches to make them new and interesting again, but it's also here to talk about the different tropes, what about them does work, and what about them doesn't.
As with any form of art, everyone has their own opinion and style. Please, by all means, write whatever you want! It's your story, your artwork, and your choice. This campaign is merely a tool for writers to learn and talk about cliches, and to encourage everyone to add their own personal flair to their writing instead of repeating the same story we've all read. But no one is the authority on what your story should be except for you.
If you want to support the campaign, add the tag #projectinnovation to your stories, and feel free to add the sticker to your books as well! Also, if you have any cliches you want to discuss, please get in contact with me by shooting me a message on Wattpad.
Last, but certainly not least, there is a reading list that will be started very soon. It will showcase stories that have put new twists on old ideas, as well as having good writing. If you have a book that you think should be put in the reading list, send a message!
I want to stress that the point of this is not to hate on anybody. Every rule has an exception, just like all of these tropes. The idea is that these are forbidden, it's that there are ways to write them well, and things that made them tired in the first place.
