A long and chilly breeze brushed against your cheeks, whipping your hair back like a flag as you stepped onto the lake shore. The water was empty, which wasn't unusual since it was still so early in the morning, and you found the solitude somewhat comforting.

Then again, you wondered if you were ever truly alone when in the water. Sure there were fish, but ever since your experience during the beginning of the summer, you questioned what exactly could be lurking in the waters outside of your home. You felt as if you could never look at textbooks or the news the same way ever again, because what you had experienced was absolutely extraordinary.

You sighed, stepping onto the tall dock and strolling down its long wooden path before sitting down at the edge. You slipped off your white sandals and set them to your right, pulling your knees up to your chin and wrapping your arms around your legs to clasp at the front.

It was at this very spot where he had told you that he'd come back to you and that he would be able to find you wherever you went. However, it had been over a month since he had said those words and disappeared into the depths of the lake and towards the river.

Could he have found someone else?, you thought. Sometimes, you even dared to consider if maybe he died. You were unable to fathom the idea actually occurring, but it would very well explain his silence.

His defined jaw, high-cheekbones, doe-like eyes, and breathtaking smile were things one could never forget, but at your darkest times, you wish you could.

You always wondered what your summer would've been like if you hadn't encountered him, or more specifically, how easy it could've turned out to be. However, you knew that meeting him was not something you regretted. It would never be that way.

You untangled your legs from your curled position to peer into the water, staring down at your reflection through the navy-blue surface of the gigantic lake.

You were merely swinging your legs over the edge of the dock, back and forth, lost in your thoughts when an arm suddenly emerged from beneath the surface. You barely had time to gasp before the hand grabbed your ankle and yanked you down.

Bubbles bloomed across your vision as you descended into the water. A scream burst past your lips, but your yelp was short-lived as your mouth was quickly filled with lake water.

You pushed off of the sandy floor and broke the surface, gasping for air and preparing for another scream when a large hand was pressed over your mouth.

Luckily, the water wasn't very deep, but you were still panicking.

This was it. They have come for you. Your tears added to the lake's quantity. You didn't even get to say goodbye.

You stopped flailing your limbs and gasped when you heard a deep and familiar voice whisper from behind you. "Hey, stop. It's just me."

You blinked away the water clogging your eyes and spun around, now facing the same strong jaw and doe-like eyes. Your breathing pattern began to slow down and you wanted to sigh out in relief, but anger quickly overcame your relieved senses.

"What was that for? Couldn't you have just waved at me or something? In two seconds, I was going to bite your fingers off!"

Jungkook chuckled, moving closer to you and pressing his warm chest against yours. His hair was wet, sticking to his forehead, and his chest was exposed with clear droplets of water resting above his collarbone.

"Sorry, it's just more fun surprising you this way." He said, wrapping his arms around you and keeping the both of you afloat.

He nuzzled his nose into your hair, but you rolled your eyes, looking down into the clear water and seeing his pale-blue tail gently swaying in the water.
