The Tale of Natoma

Mavis Pov

Zeref and Rogue led me and Lucy to fire pit,  where the elders were gathered around about to begin the old folk tale. I sat next to Zeref while Lucy sat next to Rogue.  The eldest of group cleared his throat and everyone quieted down.  " The Tale of Natoma has been told throughout the generations,  about a young girl who along with her pack has the gift to take the form of a wolf met the son of a ruthless alpha and fell in love.  Only to find out that their packs are engaged in a bloody war over territory." He took a seat on the log and let out a long sigh " In the  time of old,  before humans settled in the region there lived 2 packs,  The Dark Fang pack and the Night Star pack. Both were well known and feared in the region,  and they were mortal enemies of  each other.  The youngest child of the Alpha Mateo of  the Night Star pack was Natoma. She was to take over as Alpha when her father stepped down; bright as she was kind but also stern when it came to her home, she was the perfect leader.  One day she was running the borders in her wolf form when she came to a stop near the old river that divided her pack from their enemy.  Her eyes locked with a  young black wolf, immediately they knew what happened.  They're Mates, her other half belonged to her packs enemy.  Her mate made his way through the river and up to where she was, he looked up at her eyes begging her to shift. Once they both were back in human form they gazed at each other.  Her mate was a tall muscular boy with raven black hair, to her he was perfect. His stormy grey eyes forced her to stay put, in a hushed voiced he only said one word "Mate." he slowly walked up to her and wrapped her into a tight embrace. Once he pulled away he smiled "My name is Takashi. What is yours?" She stood up tall and spoke clearly "My name is Natoma, but as much as I already love you we are enemies." he looked down with sadness " I know. You are from the Night Star pack, and I'm not. There's power radiating off of you so I'm guessing you are an Alpha."  she looked up eyes determined " Yes. I'm expected to take over soon. And I'm proud of my title."  Takashi just started to laugh, and Natoma's temper flared " Why are ya laughing?! I'm going to be my packs leader!" He only smiled " I'm happy for you. I'm not making fun of you, I'm glad that you are my mate. I'm also an Alpha as well. And I, Takashi Grey accept you as my mate." She looked up shocked " You can't do that! We're enemies! You're supposed to reject me!" he spoke up in a deep voice " Is that what you want? For me to reject my other half?"  In a quiet whisper she gave her answer "  No... I'm not sure, I don't want to lose you. But how is this going to work? It's better if we're not mates."  she looked down with a dejected look on her face.  Takashi frowned " We can make it work. I don't care what others say as long as I have you."  Natoma looked up and smiled " Ok."

For months Natoma and Takashi have in secret by the river; they only meet when the borders are clear. Both of them are deeply in love and dream of when the war is over so they can be together openly. But eventually their families found out and forced them to stop seeing each other.  They were torn as their families kept battling. In the final battle the pair fought against each other. But refused to kill each other at the end. Both packs agreed to stop fighting and the two were able to live in peace. Thus from those packs came ours." The elder finished.

Rogue Pov.
After the tale finished I looked to Lucy "Did you like it?" I asked quietly "Of course! I enjoyed it and spending time with you!" She said happily.  My face started to turn red and my heart beating fast. What is this feeling??
