Chapter 29: I Like Him

KAYLA

"Zach?" I quickly stood up and ran towards him. "I thought you were dead!"

Lisa and Gerald's eyes widened.

"Hello to you too mi-"

I cut him off with a tight hug.

"Oof." He said. "I can't b-breathe."

I let go. "Sorry."

"Hi Kayla!" Alice jumped on me.

"Alice," I hugged her back. "I'm glad you're alive."

I heard Lisa slightly gasped.

I then hugged Teresa, Arissa and Taylor. Yes, suprisingly Taylor hugged me back.

And then Clarke.

"Hi." He waved.

"I thought you were dead too." I hugged him. "How did you guys survive that explosion?"

Zach coughed. "well, we were already going after you when the explosion happened." He looked at his toes. "We were the only ones that survived."

My parents coughed.

Zach suddenly raised his gun and pointed it at them. So did the others. I quickly stood infront of them.

"Wait!"

Zach, still not taking his eyes off my parents. "Kayla move."

"No, you don't understand." I said.

"I perfectly understand actually. " He looked at me. "They bombed Clinton. They killed too many innocent people."

"They're my parents!"

Zach and the others stared at me.

"What?" Clarke said.

Teresa gasped. "Ms. Williams? Mr. Williams?"

Teresa knew my parents before this. She and Tyra would come to my house every weekend and have dinner with us.

"Teresa?" My mother covered her mouth.

"That's what I've been trying to say!" I crossed my arms. "My parents are alive Zach!" I said.

Zach stayed quiet for ahwile before answering. "okay, I need a lot of explaining."

"C'mon." I motioned my head towards my parents, Lisa and Gerald.

"These are my parents, Penelope and Jeremy Williams." I said.

My dad extended his hand out. "Nice to meet you Zach."

Zach hesitated for a second but took his hand.

"Zach, thank you so much for taking care of our Kayla." Instead of shaking his hand, my mother hugged him.

Zach smiled. "No problem Ms. Williams."

"Call me Penelope." She gripped his shoulders.

Zach nodded.

After that, I introduced the others. My mum hugged Teresa.

"You've grown so much Teresa!"
She said.

Teresa chuckled nervously.

I then introduced them to Lisa and Gerald. They had a shocked expression on them ever since Zach stepped foot in the hall.

"Zach, this is Lisa and Gerald." I gestured my hand at them.

"Hi ther-" He was cut off when he saw them both. "M-Mom?"
