Percy's POV

I folded my arms and leaned on the window overlooking the beautiful night sky. "What a perfect place..." I trailed. It's around 9 pm. Just an hour. An hour till I promise myself to her. An hour till I be hers and hers only. Just an hour till we're forever.

***

Miraculously, I managed to sneak out of my quarters with a bat-armed Coach Hedge guarding and pacing the hallway of rooms. I waited for him to take his "too early-midnight snack". As he headed to the kitchen, I stealthily tiptoed my way to Annabeth's room. It was just next to mine so it wasn't much a problem. I knocked softly, but loud enough for her to hear.

I was greeted with a messy-haired, simple-clothed girl - in other words, my beautiful Annabeth. Annabeth smiled as she saw me. I smiled back. She took my hand and dragged me to her room. I obliged and let her.

Her room was nothing special. A bunk placed on the left-most side of the room, books neatly aligned on a small bookshelf just near the bunk, a desk and chair. The desk's lamp was lit with blueprints strewn everywhere - I guess she was studying. I crossed the room to the desk to take a better look The blueprints contained sketches of ancient design. I can tell because they reminded me of the old buildings in Olympus, with just a pinch of modernity.

"I realized I haven't been exactly doing my job," she said with a shy smile, "You know, rebuilding Olympus and all."

"They're great," I commented, "And I'm not just saying that because I'm your very supportive, not to mention hot, boyfriend."

She playfully punched my arm slightly and laughed. A beautiful sight.

"Okay, okay," I laughed lightly, "I've got something to show you."

Her eyebrows pinched together, a look of curiosity. I can see in her eyes were a hundred questions, a hundred guesses. I pulled her across the room to her bunk. We sat down, our knees touching.

"Annabeth," I breathed out.

I kissed her forehead and caressed her hair with my hand. I lifted her chin to fix her eyes to mine. I looked into her eyes. Then I kissed her. Her lips tasted like strawberry, and I like that. It reminds me of the strawberry fields in Camp Half-Blood. I just enjoyed the moment, every part of me exploding like a firework. They say magic doesn't exist, but in our world, Hecate and the others exists. But I believe this moment is more magical than whatever Hecate can conjure.

I pulled out eventually, allowing both of us to catch our breaths. I just stared at her beautiful gray eyes, forgetting all my problems, forgetting the world.

"P-Percy, y-you were going to sh-show me something?" she stuttered. And I see her blushing.

I smacked my hand on my forehead. How can I forget?

"U-uh yeah," I feel heat rise up to my cheeks. She laughed softly saying, "Seaweed Brain".

I gingerly let my fingers slide inside my pockets. I felt for something hard and velvet-covered. My hands grabbed hold of a velvet little box and I took it out. I slid off the bunk and fall on one knee. Annabeth's hand flew to her mouth, her eyes sparkling.

I looked at her and opened the box. Inside was a ring. A silver ring with a emerald encrusted on it. On the opposite side of the ring, an engraving was seen: SB+WG - Seaweed Brain and Wise Girl. It was engraved by Tyson himself before she and I got into this whole messed up exchange. I grinned.

"Uh," I scratched the back of my head, "it's not a wedding ring. It's much too early for that. You know being 18 and all that. But I just want to make sure that we are going to be together forever. You know, with all the other things going to happen in a demigod's life and we might get another Demigod Exchange Program from Hera-"

She cut off my rant with a kiss. I was thankful for that. I cut to the chase, "Annabeth Chase, will you promise to be my Wise Girl forever?"

"Hmm let me think about it," she said, "No."

My heart fell, "What?"

"I'm just kidding! You really are a Seaweed Brain, Seaweed Brain!" She laughed.

I laughed with her nervously, hoping she wasn't kidding about being kidding. She held my hand, assuring me that she wasn't. I removed the ring from its place and slid it in her left ring finger.

After a few stares at it, we lay down on her bed. We looked up and saw the beautiful stars on the see-through ceiling.

"Hey Annie."

"What?"

"Do you know why the ring is placed on the left ring finger?"

"Why?"

"Because it's directly connected to the heart."

I hear her smile at that. There was silence. A comforting silence before we both fell asleep in each other's arms.
