I climbed out of my car, stepping out into the eerie silence while slamming the door shut harder than I normally did. But this wasn’t a normal situation. My feet lead me down the stairs into a quiet part of the building that wasn’t crammed with visitors as I approached the nearest elevators. Reaching out I pressed the “up” button and waited, my head whirling. By the time the elevator opened, I was feeling lightheaded. A couple came out of the opening doors, holding hands with the greatest smiles, which turned into surprise as I pushed past them, as if they were non existent. Not feeling like apologizing I just looked towards the floor of the elevator, memorizing the pattern of tiles. But unexpectedly, I felt a hand on my shoulder.
“It’s going to be alright. Stay strong.” I looked up and saw the girl with her boyfriend standing behind her. Her face was full of sympathy, even though she didn’t even know what I was going through. I nodded slowly and opened my mouth to speak, but they were gone. Yet that was what strangers were like, there one moment and never to see them again.
I quickly pushed the button leading to the 5th floor and the elevator ascended. As it surged on, my knees became unsteady again, and the memories couldn’t stop. By the time it had came to a full stop with the screen above displaying the number “3” I was curled up against the wall, my hands wound my knees. The doors opened a ruffled haired boy was there, looking worriedly down at his phone, his face turning from depressed to broken. When he looked up and saw me, his features changed to shock. Without waiting a second, the boy was by my side, his strong arms wrapping around my waist.
“Ara… what are you doing back here?” the boy said, the both of us walking out of the elevator with his hands keeping me steady.
“I couldn’t leave without him, Ash,” I whispered, my voice catching. “It would’ve felt wrong going somewhere without him beside me.”
Ashton nodded his head and looked back one more time at his phone before speaking again.
“Calum just told me that… well,” he paused before saying his next words, “He isn’t doing well. The doctors say that he’s going to still be in the coma for at least a few weeks if not longer. And if that…” Ashton was shaking by now, and my own eyes were tearing up. If he left us, we would be nothing without him. He was everything to us, the fans, and to everyone who got to see the gift that he had. He was the one with the widest smile, loudest laughter, the one who drove us all home when we were drunk. He was the one who made me feel wanted. But worst of all, he was the one who made me fall in love.
And his name was Luke Hemmings.

That's the first part (chapter) of a new fanfiction idea I had a while ago, and didn't have the chance to revise or upload. This is a bit different from what I'm used to writing, so if you guys liked it I'll continue :)
And about my other story, One Direction Hunger Games, it wasn't working out for me that well, so I may continue it or not...
Love all you guys!
