Today , as I woke up , my eyes felt energetic . As I turned the shower on , the water washed away the weakness in my body and mind . As I brushed my hair , I felt new . It felt like renascence . I walked through the school halls like never before .
I then met Jess and Jeff and Agustus . Jeff and Agustus are best friends , like me and Jess . They knew each other since childhood . But due to their fathers rivalry , they had to live in seperate neighbourhoods . But still , their friendship lasted . Such was their brotherhood .
We four became inseparable in these three months . I don't know why Gus and Jeff suddenly started hanging out with me and Jess. My mom got to know them better . We frequently hanged out . Sometimes we'd just go to Gus's annoyingly huge mansion , sometimes we'd go to Jeff's pool with a hot tub , sometimes we'd go skinny dipping in the river , or just chill by the beach and a fireplace . We were always comfortable with each other . Day by day , we were becoming a family . I never saw their dads though . They were always away for work . Soon , we came to be known as the best squad of Melton high . People wondered how we got so close .
Well as I have issues standing up for myself , Agustus agreed to tutor me . He taught me self defence . He was the best . I started off pretty bad , punching him where I shouldn't , and stepping on his feet twice a day . He still had patience . I had to convince him sometimes by playing a song by the beach , asking him to forgive me . He'd still be pissed , but my puppy eyes worked every time .
I soon learnt how to defend . I was now ready . Jeff and Jess would sit by and encourage me while Gus tutored me . Well , mostly , they laughed at me , which made me do better .
One normal day , I finished my class and headed to the school cafeteria . It was lunch time . Jess , Gus and Jeff were near the table which was in the corner . And everyone was busy eating . I waved at them , and as I walked across the cafeteria , Hazel showed up midway . I wasn't scared anymore . I didn't panic . Jeff wanted to stand up for me but Gus stopped him . He wanted to see how his lessons worked on me . Jess was just standing there , confidently . She knew I'd knock Hazel down today . She smiled . Gus and Jeff looked at me . They were waiting . I dropped my bag down .
Me : What do you want , Hazel ?
Hazel : Just wanted to meet my old friend . How are you , Aria ?
