"Come on please?" Tsukasa begged.

"You already have a partner remember! You have Ria!" Kazuki yelled back.

The two of them were in the conference room with everyone else, except for Aika and Ria, out retrieving Giftias.

"But this is Isla we are talking about! I-I could be her partner again! I might even get some of her memories back!" Tsukasa couldn't figure out how to explain it to her.

How could he get her to understand? And when he got Isla back as a partner, how was he going to break the news to Ria?

"I said no, Tsukasa. Your partner is Ria." Kazuki crossed her arms annoyed.

"I-I'll do whatever you want in exchange!" He exclaimed.

"Anything?"

"W-well nothing bad, but I'll stay extra hours, I'll take out the trash–whatever it is I'll do it!"

Kazuki was stunned. This kid in front of her was willing to do almost anything just to be partners with a girl who doesn't even remember him. In away she saw it pathetic and childish, but she might as well let him try. When he realizes he can't change anything, it will crush him and hopefully teach him a lesson.

"Fine."

"Kazuki please! I'm on my knees–wait what?"

She sighed. "I said fine. You can be her partner, I'll talk to Ria about it. Go away before I change my mind."

Tsukasa thanked her ten fold before leaving the conference room. He told Ria that Kazuki needed her, then went to greet his new partner.

"It's Aika right?" Tsukasa asked holding out his hand to her. She nodded shaking his hand. "I'm Tsukasa, your new partner."

"Nice to meet you. Kazuki already gave us an assignment, let's get going."

"Right!"

One hour later

"Uhm.. Tsukasa," Aika trailed off, pulling into an alleyway.

"Yeah, what is it?"

"I think...I think we are lost..."

Tsukasa started laughing, causing Aika to panic.

Somethings never change huh?

"Let me guess, you aren't using the GPS?" He asked. Aika shook her head no.

She felt so stupid. She really wanted to make a good first impression but ended up looking like a fool. She should have just used the GPS to get them there, then they wouldn't be in the middle of a sketchy neighborhood.

"You always used to do that," Tsukasa said under his breath, but Aika still heard him.

"What?" She asked, her brow wrinkling in confusion. What was he talking about? She just met him!

"I-uh.." Aika stared at him waiting for an explanation that was never to come. Instead he laughed it off and said, "It's nothing..."

Aika punched in the address to the house they had to go to and soon they were back on the road.

Aika walked up to the door, rang the doorbell, and patiently waited with Tsukasa at her side. Moments later the door opened revealing a young woman and a man right beside her. They bothe wore sad smiles as they let the two partners in.

"I assume you have come here to get our little boy, yes?" The woman asked, placing tea on the table along with a few sweets.

"Yes, we are." Tsukasa replied. Then he went on to explain the options. In the end Aika and Tsukasa retrieved the boy.

Aika stepped up to finish it up when Tsukasa stopped her, and said that sentence that always brought the giftias to tears.

"I hope that one day, you will be reunited with the person you cherish." He whispered. The boy nodded and smiled over to the couple.

"What was it that you said to the boy Tsukasa? It made him so much happier..." Aika asked once they were in the car.

"It was something my partner used to say," a sad smile tugged at his lips.

"Who, Ria?" She asked.

Tsukasa shook his head. "Her name is Isla. And she would always say this: I hope that one day, you will be reunited with the person you cherish."

Aika was stunned. Somehow she recognized that phrase, but simply shrugged it off. "Isla sounds like a wonderful partner."

"Yeah."

"She was."

Ω Ω Ω Ω Ω

"The worst moment is when the person that gave you so many memories, becomes a memory."
