Lucy's perspective
*****************
The next three weeks fly by. I'd finally given Natsu the tour of our school which had been an experience. We kept making jokes at everything we saw, and he learned about the water fountain of terror-the one that randomly turned to high pressure water while drinking it-and he had laughed about it and tried it, saying he was magic and it'd be fine for him. Needless to say he got sprayed in the face and had screeched in shock.
It was finally time to go to the doctors though and get these crutches done with. And hopefully, if everything goes well, then I'll be getting this cast off. Natsu had been driving me everywhere and he still hasn't stopped, it's been amazing. I feel like crying with happiness sometimes because he's just so nice, it's like it shouldn't be possible.
Natsu pulls me aside at the end of the day and starts to gently pull me to his car.
"It's time!" He cheers. I smile and shout "finally!" We drive there in peace, both of us bathed in comfortable silence. And once we get there I bolt out of the car and try to waddle-run to the doors. "Lucy wait! You don't have your cast off yet! You can't just go running around everywhere!" Natsu yells. I laugh over my shoulder "you'll have to catch me I guess!" I turn around to see him smirk. And suddenly he's racing after me. I jump and try to run faster but he catches up in no time and suddenly I'm slung over his shoulder as he's picked me up. I laugh as he bounces me a bit "You're not to hard to catch, Lucy" his laughter seems to drown out the world, leaving only us "That's because I have a handicap! You jerk!" I joke. We both continue our giggles as we walk in and he finally sets me down. I snatch the crutches that he'd grabbed earlier and waddle to the front desk.• • •
The doctor cleared me. Natsu and I high-fived once the words left his mouth.
"Just be careful and make sure to continue to take it easy. Obviously sports are out of the question still, give it about two more weeks before you can start working out. Also, you might still be a bit sore. And you might have a slight limp for a bit, just because you haven't walked for awhile. If you still can't walk properly in two weeks I want you to come back here and get that checked out. Got it?" The doctor asked. "Yes" I replied and finally got to walk out. It feels weird to have my cast off. So freeing and my leg seems so cold now.
"How's it feel?" Natsu questions.
"My legs cold" I tell him. He laughs then says "Yeah I bet, I guess we'll have to cure that" I look at him oddly "how?"
"You'll see" he smiles. I smile back "ok" I know he probably has some plan floating around in his head about what to do. I jump in the car and he starts it. As always he gets ice cream as a treat. He drives in a different direction. One I've never seen before. But I know he won't answer my question even if I ask so I keep quiet. Silently wondering where he's taking me.
He drives into a driveway of someone house. I'm assuming his.
"Welcome to my home Lucy!" I smile at him as he grabs my hand and pulls me inside. He stops in the living room, which is right by the entry way.
"You can get comfy, I'll be right back" he states before walking off. I sit down on one of the couches and wait for Natsu to come back. He does in what had only been about a minute. Holding a huge blanket he drops it on me. I struggle to breath an he starts to laugh. I peek my head through the blanket and his cheeks turn a bit pink as he laughs even more.
"Lucy you look so cute" he giggles. And I giggle with him. I finally understand what he meant when he said he'd have to fix my cold leg. He meant he'd get me some blankets and we'd probably watch movies together. Which sounds fantastic.
"What movie do you want to watch?" Man, I must be psychic, I can tell the future!
"Ummm I don't know, surprise me?" He turns around to rifle through his collection of movies and finally settles on one. He puts it in and the title pops up. "Did you seriously just put on Wreck-it-Ralph?" I ask. "Are you seriously questioning my amazing movie choices?" I laugh "no, no. I'd never do that" sarcasm laced in my voice. He glares at me and I stick out my tongue. Making him break first and laugh "ok ok, do you want something else?" "No, I was just joking, I'm perfectly fine with this"
Natsu grabbed popcorn and then sat down next to me. Snuggling close and wrapping an arm around me as the movie starts. My face starts to heat up but I don't want to say anything and ruin the moment. My heart races and a weird feeling washed over me. I snuggle close to him and peek at him through the corner of my vision. I see the small smile forming on his face. The popcorn sat between us and I grabbed the first few pieces. Shoving them in my mouth in hopes of shutting up my brain. It seemed to work a bit and I started to relax as the movie wore on. My eyes started to droop and I leaned against Natsu more. I could feels his eyes glance at me as I started to nod off and I felt a hand run through my hair. I realized it was Natsu, and even though it'd normally make my heart race and wake me up, his hand was warm, and I feel happy and safe. With the sounds of TV in the background and a warm blanket wrapped around me, a soft hand pushing hair out of my face and Natsu smiling at me as happiness floods my veins I fall asleep.————————————————————————
