Rochelle's POV
I was 8 and a half when it happened.
Reg had left for Hogwarts and was proudly placed in Slitherin. My Phoenix, which I chose to name Noir, was fully grown. I had learnt loads about Phoenix's in the past 2 and a half years and I loved Noir more that anything else.
Anyway, so, I was just sitting in the living room, playing a one-player game with my pack of Magic Cards, Noir was perched on my shoulder. I heard lots of chatter in the dining room. More than one voice was talking. Way more than one voice. It sounded like quite a lot of voices, like a meeting.
One voice stood out above them all.
"My followers! It is so good to see all of you here" The voice sounded cold, despite his words, and I could tell he was in charge of the meeting. Noir suddenly flew off and into the dining room. I was hot on his heels, calling out his name. What on earth did he think he was doing! I burst into the dining room and then there were loads of peoples stares directed at me. I suddenly felt very self-conscious.
"A child?" Hissed the main voice. My eyes snapped up to him. He looked about mid twenties with brown hair.
"Oh yes, My Lord" My Mother said "This is our youngest child, Rochelle Black" Mother explained. I looked at the man again.
"Hello young one" He gave me a sickly smile. And I managed to smile back at him.
"Hello to you too Sir" I said quietly and gave a little curtesy. My parents believed in the saying 'Children must be seen and not heard' and all that nonsense. The man chuckled slightly.
"Is there a reason you have ventured into this part of the house?" The man asked. I then remembered why I had come here.
"Oh! yes, um. Had anyone seen a black Phoenix? He should be somewhere here...." I trailed off as my eyes searched the room. I finally found him crouched in a corner, my eyes went wide and what was slithering towards him - Fangs poised to strike. I quickly dived in front of Noir as the Snakes' venom pierced my lower right cheek and the top of my neck. Beside my ear.
I heard several cries then everything went black.

.
.
I could feel the venom pulse through my blood, seep through my veins and smother my heart in evil.
I was sure I was gonna die.
Then I gasped in a breath and my eyes flew open.
I felt a searing pain next to my ear but decided to ignore it.
I looked around, green and silver bed sheets and wall paper with a dark green dresser a window seat with greet and silver pillows.
My room.
I wished it was a dream!
.
But not all wishes come true....

It was a few hours later when a man walked in. I was sitting on my window seat just gazing out. With my knees tucked up to my chest. Noir was perched on my shoulder after he had flown through the open window. I had felt my neck to see a bandage wrapped around it which hurt when I touched it so I didn't try again. The man was the so called 'Dark Lord' as my mother referred to him too.
"Hello, Rochelle, is it?" His voice was now gentle. I nodded slightly.
"Everyone calls me Rocky.....?" I trailed off, wanting to know his name.
"I am known for many names, Rocky" He walked over and sat down on the other side of the window seat, facing me.
"I have time" I shrugged as I moved into a cris-crossed position. Something told me to fear this man, but another part told I knew him. The man looked at me for a few moments before he started talking.
"My birth name is Tom Marvollo Riddle. But, because I was named after my filthy muggle father I changed my name to Lord Voldemort. All my followers call me the Dark Lord, some who are brave say Voldemort but those who are not call me He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named or You-Know-You." he said the ending in a dramatic joking way which made me giggle. He gave a little smile which looked like it hardly ever appeared on his cold hard expression.
"You are a different child Rocky" He started, "Most children, even those who parents follow me, don't even look at me, let alone talk and laugh too me" I was confused then.
"I don't see why not" I shrugged, "You haven't done anything to make me not talk to you" I replied. "Anyway, is there a reason you've come into my room, Tommy?" I didn't want to sound rude but I was pretty curious. He didn't seem fazed by my nick name for him, instead he actually smiled at me, again. But then he turned serious.
"Rocky, I don't know how to tell you this but.... when my snake, Nagini bit you, her venom went inside you. Now, Nagini isn't any normal snake. She is attached to me because she is what we call a Horcrox. So, when she bit you, some of my soul went into you, making you a Horcrox too. Nagini left a scare on your cheek but your Phoenix healed it with his tears. They were unable to heal such an infective wound but it did make the scar form a shape of a lightening bolt"
I didn't know what to do with that information.
I mean, it's not something you hear everyday... especially at my age.
I nodded as I thought about it.
"Anything else, Tommy?" I asked.
Tommy stood up and walked towards the door, but before he left he said something.
"You might notice some changes with your mind" Tommy said casually then left, closing the door behind him.

It's been two and half years since that day. I'm now eleven and at the train station. I had Eden sitting on my shoulders with her tail wrapped around my neck. I had sent Noir off already, not wanting to attract muggle attention with a Phoenix on my cart.
Reg was starting his third year and Si (pronounced *sigh* also nickname for Sirius) - who was a total disgrace to the family apparently - was starting his fifth year. Si ran straight through the wall, not bothering to say goodbye, with his black messy hair flying around everywhere. I wanted to leave as well but I knew my parents wouldn't let me.
My long, never been cut, deep cobalt hair was falling down to my waist. It was naturally straight which was weird since both my brothers' hair was wild. But, as always, I had some of my long hair in front of my right ear so it was falling past my shoulder to cover my scar. I had not once wore my hair up since the day the snake bit me.
Not once.
I saw Reg waiting my the gateway for me.
Well at least I have one brother who's nice. My parents pulled me into a threesome hug.
"Be careful Rocky, but hold your head high and be proud of our name!" Mother told me. I nodded slightly and turned to my father who inclined his head over to one side. I followed him before we were out of hearing distance. Then he turned to me.
"You must be in Slitherin!" He started, ummm? "You don't want to end up like Sirius do you? No, that's good. I'll see you at Christmas with your green and silver uniform ok" It wasn't a question. More like a threat. I bit my tongue in reply and luckily the warning whistle sounded.
"Bye!" I called as me and Reg ran through the wall, him following me to make sure I get there safely. Almost instantly, Noir perched on my shoulder, but I was used to him coming out of no where so I didn't jump at all.
"Bye Rocky, good luck" Reg gave me a side hug then hurried off to find his friends. I climbed aboard the train just as the engine started and it started moving along the track.
Well that was lucky.
