The two teens woke up and greeted each other the next morning as Jayden readied himself for a morning walk. Kara wanted to come with Jayden as she supposedly wanted to get some exercise as well. Jayden, thinking of it as just that, opened the door for both of them to enter into the neighborhood. However, they were stopped by, in their perception, the famed superhero Doctor Fate.
Fate:Kara Zor-El, I would like to have a word with you.
Kara:Huh?
Fate:It is of great importance.
The mystical being turned his focus to Jayden.
Fate:This does not require your presence, Jayden Isaacson. I do apologize, but it is important that I speak with Kara privately.
Jayden:Ok.
Jayden said in a mildly confused way. He then allowed Kara and Fate the privacy they need as he shut the front door and made his way up to his room. After a while, with Jayden in his room drawing and such, Kara suddenly called to him.
Kara:Hey Jayden, you can come down!
Jayden made his way downstairs and outside the house, just where Fate and Kara were.
Jayden:So, what's going on?
Fate:I'm afraid Kara will be assisting me in a quest beyond you're imagination.
Kara and Jayden watched in awe as Fate opened a portal before them. Fate suddenly felt weak as he grunted and looked slightly overwhelmed.
Fate:"grunting"You see, my powers have grown weak and I need Kara's assistance. I'm sorry, Jayden Isaacson, but her, and three other individuals, are needed if the universe is to survive. I can't hold the portal for much longer, so please, keep you're goodbyes quick.
Jayden and Kara looked at each other with mixed looks of sadness and disappointment before they spoke.
Jayden:Kara, I just want to say that you've been a great friend to me. Even though I met you yesterday and I've known you since that day or this might be some crazy dream, it was great that you were there for me and I was there for you.
Kara:Thank you. I was glad I found someone like you when I need someone most and I'm glad that person was you.
Kara and Jayden then embraced for short while, the reason being Fate interrupting the moment of farewell.
Fate:As much as I hate to intrude on this touching moment, but there's a universe to save.
Kara:Well, goodbye Jayden.
Jayden:See ya, Kara.
Kara entered the portal along with Fate. But before it closed, Fate gave some surprisingly thought words to the boy in the blue hoodie.
Fate:Do not wallow in sorrow, young Jayden. You will see young Kara again, but thing will be different, in a positive way. Farewell.
The portal closed at that point in front of the young man, disappearing in front of him in an instant. Deciding not to dwell on this event, Jayden decided to start his morning walk. However, just as he locked the front door with his house key and left his house to stroll around his neighborhood, a bizarre occurrence suddenly unfolded. A strange light wrapped its aura around him and swept him away from his neighborhood. Things seem vastly impossible that theses two new friends will meet again, due to their separate new destines.
