Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.

Maya Angelou

It was raining heavily outside. I watched him sleep, looking at his masculine face with wonder in my eyes, thinking about how everything had turned out. Now, versus a year ago. Myself, an ordinary girl, and him, who had everything life could offer and more. Life was truly strange, and in my case, very, very kind. I took it all in, never getting enough, the sharp angle of his jaw, the dark stubble he sported for me, his beautiful face. He sighed, and my heart fluttered. I lay my head against the pillow, careful not to wake him, and let my face come close so I could feel his warm breath against my cheek. My heart was profoundly content, in all the ways that mattered. Never in a million years, would I have imagined all this to happen. Happy and grateful, I closed my eyes and willed myself to sleep.
