Chapter 4

Chapter 4:

I had just gotten home when I heard my phone ring.

“Hello?” I asked to the person on the other side. Stupid, I know. I mean, I could’ve just checked the caller ID. 

“You seriously didn’t check to see who it was? Ha! Silly little girl.” Gerard’s booming laugh sounded off the speakers of the phone.

“Stop it, Gee. I have the right after what just happened.” I mumbled the last part, not really meaning to say it aloud.

“What just happened, bae? Was it something bad?” Said Gee with a concerned tone of voice. Should I tell him? I thought to myself. I mean, he is my best friend after all and he tells me everything. Besides, he won’t judge me… I think. So after a few seconds of thinking about it, I decided to tell him.

“Frank Iero talked to me today.” I said with a low tone of voice, nibbling on my bottom lip, waiting for his answer.

“Really, now? And what did he talk to you about?”  Gerard said and, knowing him as well as I did, I could just imagine him with a smirk upon his face.

“He, well…During lunch, he caught me staring at him and he smiled and winked at me…” I flinched as the words left my mouth. That sounded better in my head, I thought to myself.

“You do realize that that’s not a real conversation, right Kat?” He chuckled softly. He found it amusing, but I found it humiliating.

“That wasn’t really it…” I murmured softly, then, taking a deep breath, I continued, “After lunch was over, Frank entered my 6th period classroom, probably having had a schedule change. He sat right behind and whispered near my ear something ‘why you are so nervous around me, baby?’Then he gave me a piece of paper practically asking me out! And then, after the last bell rang, he was waiting for me leaned against my freaking locker! He asked me what I said about him asking me out, which I answered with a no by the way, and he whispered in my ear something about me begging him to go out with him in a few days or whatever and the he nibbled on my earlobe. He freaking nibbled on my earlobe!” I had raised my voice slightly by the end of my rant and I could feel myself getting anxious and starting to shake.

“What? Are you serious?” My silence must’ve answered his question because, all of a sudden, he burst out laughing. “Katarina Flores, you were just hit on by the sexy Frank Iero!” He laughed for a few more seconds and then it dropped to just a few chuckles.

“Are you done laughing at me?”

“Yeah hehe sorry.” He said with another chuckle. I smiled softly, not being able to stay mad at him.

“It’s okay Gee.” I said sweetly, the smile still upon my face. He must’ve sensed that I was smiling because I could practically see the grin on his face. 

“I love you so much that I’m coming over to your house right now to make you look sexy for Frank tomorrow.” He said quickly, not even giving me time to respond back. I slowly shook my head, grinning from ear to ear. Even if he drove me crazy, there was no way I could live without Gee.
