"Laxus..." I whispered, he never spoke just stared, making me shift my feet.
His eyes never left my own.
"Mommy?" Ari spoke, breaking us out of our trance
"Y-Yes sweetie?" I asked, shifting my eyes to my daughters innocent ones. Secretly thankful for not being able to see Laxus intense ones anymore.
"I think the big boy wants to come with us for ice cream" she said whispering in my ear while looking at Laxus.
"Boy?" I whispered, missing the tiny smirk that formed on Laxus face "Um...no. He's just here to make sure that..um mommy and ..Ari-" I was caught off by a deep chuckle
Damn his voice not only got deeper but so has his laugh. It's much more masculine then what it was. Huh...I wonder what else has matured. I thought, my eyes flicking down to his pants
"Right Fotià?" Laxus asked breaking me out of my dirty mind and making me quickly shift my eyes back to his face
"W-What?" I asked blushing and cursing myself for being caught looking and not paying attention.
He smirked showing off his one fang tooth grin "I said that you wanted me to make sure that you and little Ari were safe. That's why I'm walking you guys to the ice cream shop" He looked away from me and to Ari, raising his big hand and patting her little head "Is that alright Ari?" He asked her with a grin
She giggled and looked at me "Yes sir! Mommy he needs to walk us to the ice cream shop!"
I was at a loss of words not really knowing what to say, so I just nodded and braved myself for what was going to happen.
-time skip-
"Here you go Ari, one scoop of strawberry ice cream!" The clerk then turned to me "And Fotiá, one scoop of strawberry ice cream for you as well" he handed me my cone with a paper around it.
I looked at it and saw that it was his phone number.
I heard a slight growl and rolled my eyes
Men.
"Relax, he does it whenever I have a man with me and I look uncomfortable" I whispered loud enough for Laxus to hear
He huffed but whispered "Maybe he should mind his damn business"
I turned to look at him "Maybe you should take your own advice and leave"
He growled louder and whispered harsher "Maybe if you didn't hide my daughter from me then I would be minding my own business"
I gulped as he brushed passed me to sit with Arianna.
The ice cream clerk looked at me worriedly. I smiled at him reassuringly and sat down next to Ari.
"So mister, I see that you like strawberry ice cream just like me and mommy!" She exclaimed licking her melting ice cream. It smeared on her nose causing me to giggle and Laxus to smile
"Yes, strawberry ice cream is my favorite. Do you want to hear a little story on how I got to love it?" Laxus asked Ari
She nodded quickly
I blushed knowing where this story was going
"Well, I was about twelve years old when I met this little blue haired brat. She was about nine years of age and always carried around a stuffed panda that my gramps gave her. I couldn't help but bully her-"
Laxus was interrupted by Arianna gasping and shaking her little head "Bullying is bad and mean mister!"
I smirked at my babies statement
Laxus chuckled and nodded "I know that now. And when you get older you'll understand why I did what I did Arianna, but for now listen"
She nodded and continued to eat her ice cream, I ate mine slowly, listening and wiping at Ari's face
"One day, I bullied her too much causing her to cry like a little cry baby that she was" his eyes flickered to me, I blushed and looked away from him
"I felt bad that she was crying...so I brought her to my favorite ice cream parlor. I couldn't help but smile as her eyes brightened at the different flavors"
I looked back up at Laxus and saw that his eyes softened and held a warm expression. I blushed even more crimson but held his stare.
"One particular flavor caught her eye. Do you have a guess as which flavor it was?" He asked Ari
She nodded "Strawberry!"
He chuckled and nodded in return breaking eye contact with me to look at her
"When she ordered it, I remember giving her a weird look. She asked me why I was making that face at her. I shrugged and told her that I thought the flavor she picked wa-"
"Was weird. Then the little girl asked you if you ever tried it before and you shook your head...." I finished for him causing Laxus to stare back me once more
He nodded "Yea, she then asked if I wanted to so I did and from then on-"
"Strawberry ice cream was your favorite." I finished for him
We didn't break eye contact
"Wait, mommy! Was the little girl you?" A tiny voice asked causing me to blink rapidly and to look away from Laxus piercing grey eyes
"Yes, your mother was that little girl." Laxus answered for me
Ari gasped and had a big cheeky grin "Mister, you know my mommy? Who are you?" She asked as she finished her dripping ice cream
Laxus looked at me, I sighed and nodded, he looked back at Ari as he took the last bite of his ice cream cone "Yea, I know your mommy. The names Laxus Dreyar, and I'm your-" I cut him off once again "He's your daddy, Arianna" I finished
It was silent for a moment
"You're...my daddy?" She asked finally
I watched as he nodded, looking at her hopefully
I sighed and finished my cone.
I jumped when I heard a squeal and watched as my little baby girl jumped out of her chair and ran to Laxus who picked her up easily and held her to his chest.
Tears ran down my babies face "Daddy..."
My heart squeezed at the scene
My eyes widened at Laxus. His eyes were glazed over with unshed tears. He held her so close to his massive chest not wanting to let her go
I could see pain and love swim in his irises
I got up and left the store waiting for them outside. I sighed, "looks like it's going to be a long day" I whispered to myself
