Kellie is in downtown New York, it is nearly two am and she is in the worst side of town; where there are drugs, pimps, prostitutes and more. Holding her trench coat tighter against herself, she walks through a dark alley where she sees a group of men shielding over a fire in a tin waste bin.

"Hey" she calls out to them and they look at her before turning back to warm themselves.

"I know y'all heard me! I'm looking for Matthew" she calls as she approaches them.

"Who's asking" one of the men asks and she raises an eyebrow at him, people just love to come out their necks and talk reckless to her.

"Please don't make me get physical. I have been having a really hard month" she says crossing her arms when she hears footsteps behind her, she looks over her shoulder to see Matthew figure step out of the shadows.

"What the hell are you doing here, Lauren" he asks her with a joint in his hand.

"We need to talk. Right now" she demands.

He nods his head in the direction he came from and she looks around skeptically before following him into the shadows, he leads her into an abandoned warehouse which is now a makeshift house.

"How did you find me" he asks?

"You aren't as clever as you may think. Now that we are alone we can talk" she says and pulls a gun out of her pants and points it directly at his chest.

"Woah there baby girl be careful" he says taking a step towards her but she reaches up and takes the safety off her gun.

"You came for my family" she snarls at him.

"Family? Your family doesn't give a damn about you, they forgot about you" he snarls at her and she steps closer until the barrel of the gun is pressed directly against his chest.

"My niece was at home that night. You put an innocent child in harms way, whatever beef you have with Luscious then leave it with him. Don't come for my nephews or my niece" she states.

"Nah. I think you forgot how things work in the hood, see back then kids were off limits. But now a days, you got a problem with one person and you got a problem with the entire family" he says resting his hand on the gun and looking her directly in the eyes.

"Do you have a death wish bitch" she snarls at him?

"You claim that they are family, that means my conflict is with you. Now I don't want to hurt you because we have history and we both know that you aren't going to pull that trigger. You have never been able to physically hurt anyone, that's one of the many things I loved about you" he says and pushes the gun away from him.

Kellie looks up at him as his hands come up and presses his hands on her shoulders and pushes her up against the wall behind them, even after seventeen years he still has kept his ruggish, boyish face but his clothing choice has dropped.

"You expect me to believe that you loved me? You left me" she accuses.

"Your brother gave me no choice. I left the city the next day after they caught us" he says.

"Don't give me that bullshit, Matthew! You had a choose and you chose to forget me and forget us" she says pushing his chest.

"Calm your ass down Kellie before I make you. What was I supposed to do, go up against Luscious and his army" he yells at her?

"Yes Matthew. You were supposed to fight for me, fight for us" she whispers; he drops his head down and looks at the ground before raising it back up and pressing his lips against hers.

Kellie kisses back as her free hand moves up his shoulder and cups the back of his head, his hands come up pushing her coat open as his arm wraps around her back and pulls her closer against him. Kellie suddenly pushes him away from her and wipes off her lips with disdain.

"You're right and I should have fought for you, but I'm here now. The only way we can be together is if I take down Luscious and his entire Empire" he says.

"I'll help you take down Luscious but on my terms, I won't bring harm to my nephews or my niece. They are to be excluded from this" she says firmly.

"I can't promise you that" Matthew says.

"Then I can't promise not to side with them when he finds out it was you" she says back to him.

"Fine. I will agree to your terms but remember that I am in control" he says and Kellie laughs looking at him.

"You always did believe you were in control. Have a good night" she says and fixes her coat and walks around him before turning around calling his name.

"What's up" he says.

"One more thing" she says before bringing down the butt of the gun against his head making him fall back and press his palm against his head as blood bleeds from the wound.

"What the hell" he says to her.

"Don't ever kiss me after you smoked, I always hated the taste of it and I still do" she says before putting the safety back on her gun and tucking it back in her coat before slipping out of the wwarehouse.
