Two

I came to a tree just by the canyon and climbed it. I was supposed to meet Eric here at 12 and it was 11:45. Yay, if he passes by I'd have a little time to scare him. I climbed to the top branch just as he came around the corner. When he was a few steps away, I jumped down and scared him. He screamed and said breathlessly, "never, ever do that again."

I laughed so hard.

We talked for a while and then he said something that surprised me: "what's with you?"

"What" I asked, caught of guard.

"Your eyes are all closed off."

I replied stupidly, "huh?!"

H chuckled for a moment, then said, "they say that the eyes are the window to the soul, yours are just eyes."

"Wow, thanks."

"No it's not bad, but I've made it my goal to open them up."

I smirked and stated, "so I'm your new goal?"

He smirked and said, "yup."

We talked until the sun set, he sat in the one same spot as I walked, ran, and climbed around, uncontrollable. He watched me with calculating and fond eyes. No matter if I was behind or infront of him, his eyes were always on me. They looked happy and... free. From what I heard, freedom isn't something you get in erudite so I was glad I could give it to him.

I had never believed the whole 'eyes are the windows to the soul' thing, but he understood, and made me believe in more than I'd ever dreamed of.
