"And that's why you and Y/N stopped talking?" Sirius asked James. Y/N stopped and leaned against the door, listening to the conversation on the other side.

"You know, that's stupid, right?" Remus questioned.

"I know!" James groaned and Y/N could only imagine him running his hands over his face in frustration. Y/N pulled back from the door and knocked on it.

"Who's it?" Sirius called out.

"It's me! Y/N!" She answered, sighing to herself. There was shuffling on the other side of the door before it was pulled open.

"Missed us, Y/N?" Sirius smirked.

"I came here to take my notes," She chuckled, shaking her head a little. "I must've left it here, the last time."

"Yeah," Remus said. "They're in my drawer."

"Thanks." I smiled, walking past Sirius, towards the drawer.

"So, Y/N," Sirius said, sitting next to Remus on Peter's bed. "It's been long since you hung out with us."

"Are you staying?" Peter asked.

"As much as I would love to, boys," She sighed, taking her book from the drawer and closing it, then turning to face the boys. "I promised Frank, I'd help him study and also, some people wouldn't want me here."

She smiled looking at James and then turning back to the other three boys in the room.

"So, I'm gonna have to pass." She said walking towards the door but stopped when James spoke up.

"So, you're going--" James said, trying to find the proper words. "With Frank?"

"Yes, I'm going to the library with Frank Longbottom." She turned back to face him. He looked angry and hurt.

"It's not a date, right?" He asked, shrugging slightly and becoming protective, the way he used to.

"Even if it was, it's none of your concerns, James." She arched an eyebrow. "But no, it's not."

Y/N and James had been best friends since they were little, even before they joined Hogwarts. They basically grew up together but in their sixth year, they grew apart because of James' crush on a certain red head, Lily Evans. In the beginning, they at least used to spend sometime together but now, they fell apart completely. An audible sigh escaped her lips when she thought of the fight they had in the library a few weeks ago. She couldn't remember how it started but she remembers that it ended up with them deciding not to be friends any longer and him storming out of the library.

"Are you alright?" Frank asked as another sigh was heard from her mouth as they sat in the library.

"Fine." She nodded, putting the quill down.

"I know that you and James had a bit of a falling out," Frank said sympathetically. "But it's gonna be fine. You two will be fine."

"I hope so." She yawned.

"Tired?" He asked and she nodded.

"We should go." He chuckled, packing up his books. "We've been at this for two hours and also, it's almost dinner time."

"Yeah." She smiled as they packed and left the library and moving towards the great hall.
