So, after a long break, welcome back to the new author interviews and without any further delay let's welcome our guest for the day, DBauthorSudor
Welcome young writer, and let's begin!
Q) What is your full name?
A) Well, I actually haven't disclosed my real name on here, I only use a pen name, going by "Dorothy Barlow". Haven't given much thought to a "pen" middle name, but I guess I could go with my grandmother's middle name, "Fay". So, yeah, I'll go with Dorothy Fay Barlow.
Q) How old are you?
A) I'm 20 years young!
Q) What are your hobbies?
A) Knitting, reading, spending time with my dog, and, of course, writing! I also play violin, piano, and recorders. I'm planning to try to learn flute, if I can find a teacher.
Q) What would you do if you suddenly won a thousand dollars?
A) I don't really know. I haven't thought much about it, but I would probably buy a new and better violin, but then I don't know. Maybe I'd use it to build a writing cabin. Or save it to help build an orphanage, which has been a dream of mine for a long time. It's really a difficult question.
Q) Who are your celebrity crushes?
A) I don't have any. Sorry.
Q) If you could watch only one show for the rest of your lives, which one would it be?
A) Hogan's Heroes, or The Lone Ranger. It's a hard choice!
Q) What are some of your favorite childhood memories?
A) Probably going to the beach with my family. We never really went on many vacations, so that was always fun...once I got over my fear of "Wud", as I called the foam from the water. That was also a name I used for fuzz. I was very afraid of it!
Q) What is your favorite color?
A) Maybe purple.
Q) Which actor/Actress would play you in a movie about your life?
A) Well, I don't know any actors or actresses from modern times. I liked Deanna Durbin for her voice, but never watched any of her movies. I really don't know the answer for this question. :/
Q) What is your favorite cartoon?
A) Oh, my! I haven't watched a cartoon in a long time. Probably Winnie the Pooh, though.
Q) When is your birthday?
A) Nov. 16th, 1996
Q) When do you usually write?
A) I don't really have a set time when I normally write. It's mostly just when I have the time and inspiration.
Q) When did you first start writing stories?
A) I wrote stories when I was little. I don't remember how old I was when I first started, but I do know that they were horrible. The earliest manuscript of my own that I still have is from when I was 12, and it also was horrible. Please, you don't want to see it! I first started seriously writing in 2014, I think, when I intended to publish the book I was working on. It wasn't very good, but it wasn't as horrible as my older ones. I never did publish it, no, but I think my writing has improved since I started using Wattpad. Now I'm working on one I really do intend to publish!
Q) How was the response you got on your first story?
A) If we're talking about my very first story I ever wrote, I don't really remember, but it was probably an amused reaction covered up politely. But if we're talking about my first story I posted on Wattpad, I would say I got a good response, considering my inexperience. I never got a bad comment on any of my works on here. Maybe I just have really nice supporters!
Q) Name your supporters.
A) My father and mother, I would say, would come first on this list. And I have so many supporters on here. A few will suffice for a list. @Miss_KristenKane , @BelieveInHisLove , @Silentsparrow432 , @sro3002, and @EmileypL . There are so many more, and I don't want to leave anyone out, but the list would be too long. Everyone is so kind in their support.Q) Who would you give the credit of your success?
A) Probably my father. He has done some writing, and is good with that, and I believe that any talent I have along those lines comes from him. Thank you, Father!
Q) If you're to name five best readers of your story, who would they be?
A) The above listed ones are probably my best readers! I owe them so much, which I will never be able to repay, most likely.
Q) How did you come to know about Wattpad?
A) My friend, @ReadingInMirkwood , introduced me to the site back in 2015, when I was mentioning about the book I was working on.
Q) Are your books published on any other sites?
A) Nope, only this one.
Q) Which site gives you the best response?
A) This one, naturally. :)
Q) Who had the biggest impact in you while you were growing up?
A) Honestly, between my father and my mother, this is an impossible question to answer. I believe that each of them held an equal part in bringing me to where I am today. There is no first or second.
Q) Do your readers cooperate with you when your unable to update for personal reasons?
A) I would say they do. They are sometimes eager for an update, but they never bully me. Except maybe in play. ;)
Q) Are you Happy with the kind of response your book gets here? If no, what are the ways you're opting for in order to increase the number of reads?
A) Yes, I would say I am happy. I would like to see my book get more readers, but I'm sure that that will come, in time, and I'm willing to wait patiently for that time to come. :)
Q) Who's your inspiration?
A) My parents!
Q) Did you like being with us for this interview?
A) Yes, I enjoyed this, even if some of the questions made me really think. That's a good thing!
Well, we also loved being with you! And we hope that our fans loved it too.
Coming up next, is a writer who recently conveyed the feelings of a molested girl quite perfectly in her story. Can you guess who?
Keep guessing!!!
