"Alright. She's stablized and in an induced coma for a few days. The surgery went well, my only hope is that she can pull through this."
"What about the rest of the victims?"
"Most of them either died before they got here, died when they got here or died during surgery. Only a few managed to survive, including that little one."
"About how mayn?"
"Out of the 50 that were brought here...Maybe 5 or 10 survived."
"What?! But how is that possible?! "
"The orphanage was in a secluded place. There were no fire hydrants nearby or a neighbor within a mile of that place. The only reason that the orphange was found was because there were giant plumes of smoke you could see 2 miles away! I'm surprised that that many survived. Most of the orphans were crushed under support beams or walls."
"Are there any siblings that managed to survive?"
"Yeah. But only one family of siblings. 2 girls and a boy. The youngest was who I just finished operating on. She'll live, as well as her siblings." Sighs of relief could be heard.
"At least the little one will have people to comfort her. They're lucky to have lived. Wasn't the boy found crushed underneath a support beam?"
"Only his legs were crushed. I remember operating on him. Poor boy, I fear that he may never be able to walk again."
"And the other girl, she was blinded by the smoke."
"The little one, she already had mental problems. From what Information I got from her medical records, she may either be bipolar or a schizophrenic. That's going to cause some problems for her in life."
"The youngest isn't biploar or a schizophrenic. Her brother was conscious, so I asked him about it. He said that there was someone at the orphanage with Schizophrenia, and she decided to act like him for a while to pass the time."
"Wow. The fact that she imitated him convincingly is remarkable. How long did she act like this?"
"He said around a year."
"...To pull that off...That's almost impossible."
"Not to her anyway." Someone burst into the room, shocking everyone.
"I just talked to the eldest, the girl. She gave me proof that her sibling is...well...not as mentally stable as she should be. She said that her little sister told her that she had two friends with her all the time. Of course, Genevieve the youngest didn't have any friends. So she asked who they were. She said that their names were Gin and Gen, and that their voices were inside her heads, entertaining her when she was lonely." The doctor pulled out a couple of pictures, and showed them to everyone.
"The one on the right is what Gin looks like, according to Genevieve. The one on the left is what Gen looks like."
'The drawings...They're hyper-realistic!" One of the doctors gasped.
"How?..."
"According to her siblings, she drew these in her sleep. She also has written down what I could guess are two "files" one for each of them."
"There's now way that a five year old could draw that well...unless their parents were famous artists and art is in their blood."
"What do we do now?" One of them asked.
"For now, we will have them rest. When they are all fully recovered, I will send them to a group home. They will live there until they can sustain themselves and get their own apartment. They wil lead relatively normal lives."
"Do they..." A nurse said but trailed off.
"Go on,"
"Do they know that they're the only children alive?"
"...No."
