Kalel's POV
I woke up and smiled. It's my birthday! I'm 25. I'm old. I don't care! Anthony and I were going to spend the day together and have dinner with a bunch of our friends. I put on my favorite song and danced while getting dressed.
"Buki, this is going to be an amazing day!" I said as I feed Buki. I was just so excited. As I was eating breakfast, I got a call from Anthony.
"Hey babe!!! Happy birthday!!!!!" Anthony exclaimed.
"Hey! I'm so excited for today! When should I come over?" I asked.
"About that..." he got quiet, "I can't hang out and come over for dinner, I have to do some Smosh stuff."
"What?" I said upset.
"I am so sorry Kalel!" Anthony said, "I'll make it up to you, I promise!"
"Ok," I cried. I couldn't believe it. I hung up. Then, I got a text from Joey that he got food poisoning. Next, Evelina had to rush home to help her mother who was terribly sick. Meghan and David had to attend a sudden funeral. None of my friends would reply to me. I stared at Buki.
"Looks like today wouldn't be so amazing." I sighed.
Anthony's POV
"Got the balloons?" I asked Ian. We were in the Smosh house with Lasercorn, Sohinki, Joven, Mari, Joey, Evelina, Meghan, David, Melanie, and a bunch of Kalel's other friends; preparing for Kalel's surprise party.
"Who's going to reply to Kalel when it's time?" Joey shouted, blowing up some green balloons.
"I don't know," Ian started.
"Guys! We got to stall her, to make sure she doesn't come over and bring her when it is time!" Meghan said.
"I'll do it," said a voice.
We all looked back to see Melanie, offering to stall Kalel. Kalel and Melanie used to be good friends, but they kind of "broke apart" and haven't talked to each other in a year.
"Ok," I said, "Mari, did you pick up the cake?"
"The bakery still didn't call yet," Mari replied. Uh oh. What if the cake doesn't get finish in time? What if Kalel comes over because she's so lonely? What if the tacos get cold? Uhhhh, I'm hungry.
"Iannnnnn!" I called. I was worrying too much.
"What's up buddy?" Ian asked.
"I'm really worried if this doesn't work out," I started, "What if Kalel gets suspicious and finds out? What if she comes over?"
"Don't worry man. It will all work out!" he said, "By the way, there's hot pockets in the kitchen."
Kalel's POV
This awful. Today was suppose to be an awesome day. None of my friends will even reply to me and it's my birthday! I look at all the sweet gifts my mom gave to me. I eat some cold, boring pizza while editing a vlog for WULAS. Suddenly, I get a phone call from... Melanie.
"Hey," I said softly.
"Hey, happy birthday.." Melanie voice trails.
"Thanks, it seems like you're the only one who cares," I smiled a bit.
"Do you want to go shopping and grab some lunch?" Melanie asked.
"Sure!" I exclaimed. It was strange because I haven't talked to Melanie in awhile. I didn't know she still cares. We texted each other where to meet and before you know it, I was out of the door. I was cruisin' with the top down to the mall where I was meeting Melanie. When I got there, we smiled and hugged each other like old friends.
