We all ate in silence that night, everyone had a sad and remorseful look on their faces for the ones who had lost people. That night when we went to bed it was hard to sleep. I could stop thinking about the look on the man's face as his body was being torn open by Them. I didn't get much sleep that night. In the morning I woke up to people screaming. I was terrified, with not the slightest clue of why there was screaming. I jump out of bed and ran to the opening of the little shelter we had built. When I got out of the shelter I had little time to look around before Adam and his little sister grabbed my hand and pulled me out of our camp site. He was carrying his little sister in his hand while he was rushing me out of the area. He told me that he would explain to me what happened later when we were safe and not in a dangerous place. I didn't need an explanation from what I saw in those few seconds. They were there, but some of Them looked different. Some were missing a few parts and had damaged areas on them. Did someone find a way to attack them? Was there a way to possibly kill them? This whole time we were living in fear we learned that we could not cause damage to them. At least that's what we all thought. They would deflect every hit they took from us. We couldn't even leave a dent. We tried everything from stabbing to trying to put them on fire. We ended up giving up and just decided to run from them, hoping we would survive each time we ran and tried to escape. I followed Adam, running behind him as fast as I could. He stopped so suddenly that I almost ran into him.As I looked back trying to see if I could see our campsite, Adam explained to me that on a search he found a sign that marked how to get to another place where we could have a chance to survive. He said that he wasn't sure if it was true or not but that it was the only option we really had instead of staying out in the open unless I had another option. I shook my head. I had no clue of another place to go. "We should just go to the place that you found" I said. He asked me " Are you sure you wanna go, I mean we can also just go find another area, what if the place I found was just a lie?" " Well, I don't have another option and it is better than living on the streets in the open, and if it doesn't work out.... Well, I guess we just have to take that chance". He put his little sister down and told her to take out the piece of blue paper out of the small left pocket of his backpack. She took it out and handed it to him. She was seven years old. She was a timid girl with long black hair. Her eyes seemed to be shining sometimes. She was happy most of the time. She usually had a smile on her face, when she didn't she still looked like a cute little girl. Adam always told me that without her smiles there's no way that he would be alive still. He said that he doesn't like to see a scared expression on her face. He says he doesn't like to see it because it makes him think that he can't protect her from them. He grabbed the paper and showed it to me. It was a map with a dot on it. " The dot is where we have to go, it's a little far from where we are but I think we can manage, right Lily?", He asked turning to look at his little sister. " yeah, of course, we can!" she exclaimed with a cute little smile on her face. "Well, where are we right now on the map". He turned back to the paper and pointed to a little area. " We're around here, we would have to take this road and then cross to this one and then do through here...is that fine with you". I look at the way he told me we could take "yeah, it's fine", I told him, " Besides you are the one who found the place. Should we start heading that way now or later?" "How 'bout we go in a little while, Lily seems really tired, and besides I'm sure both of us could use a little rest."
