My heart pounded in my chest. It was the Taliban. I was frozen in fear. One man rushed at me and beat me with his club. Agonizing waves of pain shot throughout my body. I thought I might faint. I hit him in the eye and kicked him in the stomach. He whipped me across my back and blood started streaming down it. I barely even noticed because out of the corner of my eye I saw another man in the Taliban pick up Saskia and Tamana and carry them.I charged at my attacker with a vicious ferocity that I didn't think I had. Somehow I managed to get the club in my hand and despite the noise it made, I beat him to death in the head. Then I will ran after the man who was carrying Tamana and Saskia. Tamana bit one of them on the hand and Saskia tried to scratch the eyes out one of the men. Another had a revolver pointed at Saskia. He pulled the trigger but at the exact same time I knocked him to the ground with the club, and the shot hit one of his comrades. Another man whipped Tamana across the forehead and then tried to pull her clothes off Saskia gave him a good punch to the stomach as another man tried to pull her clothes off. I beat as many men as I could. Then we saw him. The boy that we kept seeing in our heads. He looked at the Taliban.
"Give the girls to me." He said. All of the Taliban immediately obeyed. "Now leave." They all climbed in the boats and left. My heart was pounding. I was so scared. I thought, whatever this man has in store for us, it would probably have been better to just die by the Taliban but when he turned to face us, he had a kind expression. "My name is Tedrose." He said. My heart fluttered as I looked into his eyes. I felt like I was in a trance, I felt butterflies in my stomach. "I'm here to rescue you. Come with me." He said. For some reason, even though I didn't know him, and even though he sent those creepy messages, I trusted him. I felt safe, so the three of us followed him. He got into the water, and that was when we saw that he was a merboy. Tamana was crying. "It's okay little one," He told her. "I'm not going to hurt you or your friends." We got into the water and swam downwards after him. He lead us to a beautiful stone it was huge and flat. He put his hand on it he beckoned for us to come closer. It began to swirl. He swam right and gestured for us to follow him. I looked at Saskia.
"I've seen that. I've seen this image before in those messages." She said. "Should we follow him?" He poked his head back out and gestured for us to come.
"Well he did just rescue us the three of us." I said. We swam into the beautiful, white, swirling, moonstone pool. When I came out, I found myself in the most beautiful room I had ever seen. The walls were a beautiful pink and there was a soft lavender carpet under my tail. There was also a couch in the back of the room and a beautiful golden chandelier hanging from the ceiling. In the middle of the room, there was a table and comfy chairs. There was a stairwell and three hallways attached to the back of the room. The room smelled of flowers. It was so quiet. Sitting on the sofa was a beautiful woman. She had brown skin, golden hair, and beautiful blue eyes just like the boy.
"Where are we?" I breathed.
"You're in Moonstone Sanctuary 294." The woman said. "This sanctuary, just like all of the sanctuaries throughout the multi-verse, are designed to house creatures that are on a planet that they do not belong on and help them find their home planet. I am a robot and I have genetically engineered Tedrose to help me find creatures on this planet that are from other planets, solar systems, galaxies, and universes. When we came across you three, we tried to reach out to you by telepathic communication."
"Wait." Saskia interrupted. "Were all those those strange visions and emotions and thoughts that we had-"
"Yes." Said the robot. "By the way, my name is Eva9. This will be your home now. We will figure out what you are, and locate your home planet, which will involve lots of testing. But first I'm sure that you would love a delicious meal and a good nights rest. What would you girls like to eat?" She asked.
"Kebabs and cheese bread please."
"Moonstone sanctuary, prepare kebabs and cheese bread." Eva9 said. A robotic arm stuck out of the wall holding a tray of kebabs and cheese bread.
"Let me serve it to you, ladies." Tedrose said. We sat down and smelled the tempting aroma of the cheese. It tasted so good as it melted into her mouth. The bread was soft and creamy. Tedrose kept smiling shyly. I kept looking down and twirling my hair.
"That was the best meal that I've ever had in my whole life!" Saskia said. Tamana and I agreed, we felt more full than ever before. After we finished eating Eva9 took us into the elevator upstairs.
"Moonstone Sanctuary, prepare three baths." She said she led each of us to our own bathroom. "Just tell the sanctuary if you need anything and it'll do it. It's robotic." She explained. I stepped into the tub immediately when I got to my bathroom my tail came back but I was too busy enjoying my bath to try to figure out why. Besides, it looked beautiful. It had been a long time since I had a bath. It was warm and it felt so good. A bar of soap was provided for me and a bath bomb was in the tub, so the water was sparkling pink. It was so beautiful. I put my head back in the hair washer and the robotic arm washed my hair while I soaked in the tub relaxing. Finally, I got out, put on a robe, and dried off.
"Moonstone Sanctuary, I'm done." I announced. A few minutes later, Eva9, Saskia, and Tamana were standing in front of the bathroom door.
"Would you girls like to sleep in separate bedrooms or together?" She asked. Saskia and I looked at each other, and I could tell she was thinking the same thing that I was. Even though these people and this situation seemed genuine, They could be deceiving us. Until we know for sure it would be best if we stay together. But it was Tamana who answered.
"Together." she said. Eva9 lead us to a big beautiful bedroom. It had a pod bed with soothing rainbow lights, lush carpeting, a beautiful purple chandelier, an armchair in the corner, a huge wardrobe, and beautiful pictures hanging on the wall. The three of us climbed into bed and Tamana fell asleep almost as soon as her head hit the pillow.
"Goodnight." Eva9 said, shutting the door. The bed was so soft and comfortable. It felt like I was laying on a cloud with feathers on top of me kept me to keep me warm. But I still had one question.
"Saskia, are you still awake?" I asked.
"Yes."
"I was wondering, why do you think our tails disappeared when we got inside of the sanctuary?"
"I was wondering the same thing and given that they only appeared when we were in the water perhaps they only appear when we are submerged in water. Mine came back when I took a bath." She said. "What about yours?"
"Mine did too. We can test it tomorrow. Good night. I whispered to her. And for the first time in a long time, we went to sleep comfortable, warm, safe and knowing that there are a lot of magical discoveries to look forward to.
