This is the last one- I swear.
Anyways, I was reading this again when I realized that I never gave much of a hint for why David was disguised from his own brother and what was in the test tube at the beginning of the story. I don't think I'll clear the first one in Befall, but I think that the test tube thing will be cleared up in the sequel, but you'll have to be reading that story with the test tube somewhere in your mind.
So, I've decided to give a few words to help you Sentries out.
For David...
No one ever liked a coward.
Never compete with family for anything. Ever. Especially if you're a coward.
Because if you do, your compassion for the other person will ensure your death. Your self-consciousness will direct you away from what you want.
But the biggest thing is that you know that you couldn't do it.
And that he could.
So one coward decided that disguises would do it.
But like he said, "Disguises won't cut it these days."
And for the test tube...
Evidence is even more dangerous than weapons.
It's so hard to get, and when you do, you've officially become a target for everyone else in the world.
The test tube had some evidence.
But it wasn't going to kill someone- evidence isn't dangerous like that.
Murderers are. They're dangerous like that.
So you can see what happened.
But what was inside, you ask?
Evidence.
Crucial evidence.
