Preface
He's pretty sure that the cops have been alerted by now.
He was going to die, but he didn't want to be labelled as the killer. Especially when he's not. He wouldn't kill her...right?
Yet he did. When he said that he wouldn't.
Sneaking a glance over his shoulder, he continues hobbling away from the main crime scene, hoping that no security cameras caught a glimpse of him.
But then again, when you're bleeding to death, hope is as useful as a corpse.
It's a nuisance.
The man gazes down at his wound- a large cut slicing horizontally across his torso. When the wound begins to bleed faster, the man hisses, foul words coming out in choppy breaths. Yet still, using the wall beside him to steady himself, the man continues to limp painfully away from the crime scene.
Suddenly, his body fails him, and falls down in a pool of his blood. He hadn't realized that he stopped moving until the ground was nearing him. When he hits the ground, he bites his tongue so hard to keep from screaming that he tastes the saltiness of his blood.
He knows that he's dying. He knows that it's better to think himself as dead.
The man reaches a bloody hand into his pocket to feel a small test tube. As his vision becomes blurry, he grins a shaky smile. He knows that the test tube will help catch this person.
But before he can do anything, a black boot collides with the bleeding man's face, kicking him away from the pool of blood. He groans, since that's the only thing that he can do. Absent-mindedly, as his consciousness slips away, he feels a large hand grasping at the test tube.
Just as the bleeding man slips into permanent unconsciousness, he can only faintly hear some words, as if someone's talking to him. He's lost so much blood that he can't tell what's real or not.
He faintly hears, "You should have left when you could've... won't cut it nowadays..."
That voice couldn't have been more right.
