The next morning she rolled over and looked at the time on her phone and rolled her eyes. It was still early and everyone would probably still be asleep. Good, she thought, she still wasn't ready to face the questions she was sure she would be bombarded with. She decided she would go to the bakery and get fresh coffee and maybe a sweet roll or two. She forced herself up out of the bed and yanked on a pair of black skinny jeans that were ripped at the knees. She slid on a random shirt and grabbed her wallet and stuck it in the back pocket of her pants. She quietly made her way downstairs and saw Kira, Scott and Isaac all curled up on the couch together. Stiles narrowed her eyes and shook her head not wanting to even go there.
She walked the few blocks to the bakery and let the crisp air wake her up. She tried not to think about her words the other night. Why won't you let me in. I know you know I feel this way. You should go back to Mexico. What was wrong with her? She could keep her cool in any situation. But the moment Derek Hale looked at her, she was a mess. Stiles laughed to herself, shaking off her thoughts and opened the door to the small bakery and stepped in. She inhaled the sweet smell of donuts and cinnoman rolls. She hadn't smelled this in quite sometime and she missed it.
"Stiles." A voice said behind her. She turned and came face to face with Matt, who was lowering his camera.
"Matt, hey. How are you?" Stiles smiled, stepping up close in line.
"I'm great, how are you?" He seemed to stand a little to close to Stiles, but then again the place was a little busy and loud.
"A little hungover." She answered honestly. She was next in line and scanned the menu not looking at Matt. She heard the shutter of his camera but when she looked over he was scrolling threw the pictures. She gave the man behind the counter her order and went to pull a few bills out of her pocket.
''I got it.'' Matt interrupted, giving the man his order and paying.
''Thank you.'' Stiles said as they went to the end of the counter to wait for their items. Stiles smiled at Matt and he pulled out a neon pink flyer.
''So I'm kind of promoting a new club that is opening up a few towns away. Its invite only the first night, you should come, bring friends.'' He handed the flyer to Stiles and she eyed it.
''October 6th? That's Scotts birthday.'' She said, to herself more then to Matt.
''Cool. Its a good place to Celebrate.'' They got their coffee and Matt handed Stiles the brown bag that contained her croissant sandwich. She mumbled a thanks and they walked outside.
''Thanks for the morning pick me up.'' Stiles tilted her coffee cup at him and smiled. Matt didn't seem as creepy as he did in high school.
''Hey, that's no problem. I've got to get to work, but I hope to see you this weekend.'' He took out a marker and grabbed Stiles sandwich bag and jotted down his cell phone number. He capped the marker and smirked at Stiles. ''You should text me, you know if you're coming to the club.'' He winked and walked off.
Stiles narrowed her eyes at Matt's back and made her way back to the loft. She pulled out her headphones and popped them in. She bobbed her head to the beat and shoved the food in her mouth. She thought about Matt for a few seconds then her mind unwillingly drifted to Derek.
''Shit, that was almost 20 minutes without thinking about him.'' She thought to herself, finishing off the rest of the sandwich. She went to throw away the bag in a trashcan and stopped short. She looked at the number written on the bag and took out her cell and programmed the number into it.
Stiles got back to the loft and was met with Lydia, mumbling to herself about strong wolfs bane alcohol. She had her red hair up in a wild bun and a huge shirt on that she as sure came off of Isaac.
''What is going on?'' Stiles asked Lydia, who raised her eyebrows at the greeting.
''What do you mean?" Lydia replied, opening a can of coffee, scooping some into the filter.
''You are wearing Isaacs shirt, but he is on the couch with Scott and Kira.'' Stiles questioned.
''I don't even know about that, but we all got pretty drunk after your thing with Derek last night.'' Lydia stated.
''Okay then. New subject. Do you remember Matt from high school?'' She asked, taking the mug of coffee Lydia offered her.
''Camera man?'' Stiles nodded, sipping the caffeine. ''Yeah, I do. He had a crush on you.''
''What? No he didn't.'' Stiles demanded.
''Yes he did. He stared at you all the time.'' Stiles sighed and shook her head.
''Anyways, I ran into him this morning and he gave me his number.'' Stiles stated. ''He also told me he's promoting this club that's opening on Scotts birthday and we should go.'' She added .
''Are you sure you're ready to go out?'' Lydia expressed, giving Stiles a worried look. '' We don't know the situation on Deucalion. Speaking of that you shouldn't have left alone this morning.''
''Lydia, I'm fine. Yes, we need to deal with that. I know being here isn't exactly safe but this is my home. I haven't got to celebrate my bestfriends birthday with him in over two years. I want to make up for lost time. Don't you want to dance with me, Lydia?'' Stiles giggled.
''I want to dance with you, Stiles.'' Isaac moaned, pecking both girls on the their noses.
Lydia shook her head and made a cup of coffee for Isaac, sloshing a little when she sat it down in front of him. ''Derek isn't going to like this. He said yo-''
''Derek made it clear last night he doesn't get a say in anything.'' Stiles half yelled, making Isaac jump.
''Stiles, I'm just saying you should be cautious.'' Lydia said, putting her mug into the sink. '' We don't know Dukes location and we don't need him busting in here , blindsiding is. Okay?''
Stiles sighed and nodded her head. ''I understand Lyds. Can we please just let loose one more night then we can go Duke hunting?''
''Why are you asking her? She isn't the Alpha you know?'' Isaac mumbled, pouring milk into his cereal.
''Its for Scotty's birthday. There is a club opening on his birthday and I though it would be cool to go.'' Stiles explained, tuning back to the banshee.
''She also wants to get her freak on with Matt from high school.'' Lydia just had to point that out.
''The one who had a crush on her?'' Stiles threw up her hands at Isaacs comment.
''So..?'' Stiles waited on Lydia to make up her mind.
''Only if you let me dress you.'' Lydia told the girl.
''Yes Lydia! you can dress me! thank you.'' She hugged the girl and went to wake Kira up so they could talk about last night.
She decided to wait to wake Kira and opted to go sit on the balcony for a little while. She crunched on a glass shard that wasn't swept up, and moved it with the toe of her shoe. She needed to go talk to him, but she wanted to have a pity party. You would think Derek would be at her feet, kissing them for saving him. She knew Derek better then that. He just needed a little push. She got her phone out and texted Matt, thanking him for the coffee. Her phone pinged again and she smiled.
A little push, she thought, and picked up her phone.
