Lydia Martin was a force to be reckoned with. When she wanted something, she got it, one way or another. She saw the look in Derek's eyes when Stiles told him to go back to Mexico, and again on game night when Stiles grabbed a whiskey bottle and bolted up to her room. She knew what that look meant. She had saw it etched in his face when Stiles was beat up by Gerard and his goons. Saw it again when Stiles was in the middle of a fight with a new creature that had made its way into Beacon Hills. She was going to solve this problem once and for all.
Today was a day Stiles was dreading the most. She had been in contact with a realtor who would put her home on the market. The agent had asked Stiles to do small updates on the house to ensure she would get better profit from it. She had decided to start by packing up the things she wanted to keep then they would have an estate sale soon, before the updating could take place.
''Are you sure you don't want us to come?'' Kira asked, looking at Stiles with worry.
''No, I want to be alone there for a little bit. I think I need closer.'' Lydia and Kira nodded their understanding and hugged Stiles tight before letting her go.
''We're a phone call away. We'll be here just in case.'' Lydia announced, taking out her cell phone and walking away, holding the phone to her ear.
Stiles said her thanks and dug her keys out, taking her time getting in the car. She drove the familiar roads trying not to think about the fact that when she walked in, her dad wouldn't be on the sofa pretending to read the newspaper but was secretly watching the Voice. She drove in silence for a few more minutes thinking of all the good memories that house gave her. The time her mother taught her how to make her infamous pumpkin cinnamon rolls. They were in the kitchen for house, making tons of batches for friends and family. Her father always got teary eyes when she would make them the following years after her mother passed away. She thought about the time that Scott got the bright idea that they needed to practice kissing and her father walked in on them, eyes bigger then his face and redder then he's ever been. She couldn't help bug laughing at the memories and before she knew it she was pulling up into the driveway. She made her way to the front door and unlocked it and stepped in. She stood in the doorway, taking in her childhood home.
She decided to pack her fathers room first, packing the stuff that couldn't be replaced, She boxed picture albums and a few of her fathers shirts she would keep , sitting aside the donation box. Stiles got most of the closet done and was making her way to her fathers dresser when she heard a sound coming from her bedroom. Her heart thudded in her chest as she grabbed a bat and inched down the hall and nudged the door open with her foot.
''Really?'' Stiles half yelled. Derek was sitting on the edge of her bed, forearms resting on his legs, hands laced. ''What are you doing?''
He stood and paced a few times before turning to her. He looked at her, took in her red eyes and puffy cheeks.
''Are you okay?'' He asked.
''No.'' She said honestly. '' I just boxed up a lot of my fathers things. I just feel like he is going to walk in any second and say 'Stiles what the hell do you think you're doing?' and yell at me to put everything back'' She sniffled and sat on the edge of the bed.
''I'm sorry, Stiles. Is there anything I can do?'' Derek continued to pace, to worked up to sit still.
''What are you doing here, Derek?'' Ignoring the question, she looked up at him, biting her lip.
