I *********************************This chapter is dedicated for Emmyb98: for being very supportive and always reading my chapters. Thank you SO much Emmy!! :D*******************************

I wake up tangled up in the soft blankets. I throw the covers off and sprint downstairs for breakfast. It might be my last meal, so I'm going to enjoy it.

"Careful, Lavender. Don't overstuff yourself. You might not run fast enough if you have a full stomach," Peeta laughs, his arm around Katniss who looks like she's been crying. I laugh and nod. Jared, Haymitch, and Effie comes bustling in.

"Oh good, you're up, I didn't want to try to wake you," Effie claps her hands.

"Now for breakfast," Haymitch sits at the table and fills his crystal glass up to the brim with wine. I roll my eyes and share a look with Jared.

He winks and smiles. I blush and look at my food. For breakfast there was bacon, something that we had to pay a fortune to get back in the Seam, and many more foods.

I grab my fork and dive in, despite the warning Peeta gave me. Suddenly, there was a bell. Everyone's faces fall except for me and Jared's. I look at everyone confused. Effie looks at us sympathetically.

"Time for the Games," Effie says quietly and reluctantly. My blue eyes go wide and I almost choke on the food. Jared has to pat my back. I stare at my food in surprise. Jared gets up and lends me a hand. I take it and get up from my chair.

I stare into Jared's brown eyes. He stares back at me sorrowfully. I wrap my arms around him in a hug. At least I could spend my last few pretty moments with him. Effie separates us and I step into a room. Cinna is sitting in a chair with his hands in his lap.

I nearly start sobbing. He gets up and comes torwards me with his arms stretched out wide. I meet him halfway and start sobbing in his arms. Cinna smiles ruefully.

"Lavender," Cinna grabs my shoulders and makes me stare at him, "you are strong. You can win this thing," Cinna wipes the tears from my cheek.

"But what if I die?" I whisper. "I can't leave my mom alone." I stare at his face.

20 seconds.

I look at the cylindrical tube that will launch me into the Arena.

"Don't worry, Lavender. Just find a water source and go from there," Cinna kisses my hand.

10 seconds.

Cinna helps me put on my Games jacket that says my District number and leads me to the tube. I step into it and the door closes.

I stare at Cinna in fear. He nods slowly. His face disappears and I face gray concrete instead.

I reach the top. All twenty-four of us stare at the Arena around us, calculating where we will go. The Cornucopia is in the middle of the ring that we tributes make.

I make out a belt filled with more than a dozen  knives.

I need that. I caught Flux's eye and he smiled at me hungrily, as if he was a predator and I was his prey. Wow, ironic much? I looked at the Arena.

The landscape was divided into four different areas. One was the forest, where I was definitely going to run to. The second to the forest's left was a lake, after that was marshland, and the last was a small mountain.

My quess is that the Careers will go to the lake, where the most valuable source of water is. Most of the other tributes will probably avoid the marshland, unless they want to die a horrible and slow death by the quicksand.
