"Step in." She encouraged him as she pointed at the small portal that she had just created.
Link hesitated for a moment, but did as Zelda said, and stepped inside the blue portal. After he was gone, Zelda stepped in and it absorbed her too.
Moments later the pair found themselves at a somewhat dusk pathway. Link glanced around him and scanned the environment. "Where are we?" He then asked.Zelda sighed exceedingly loudly. "The steeping embers of our cosmos. A dead, silent and cold realm. A tremendous piece of the universe where the innocent souls of your milky way are bound to be trapped after they stop existing. Welcome to the kingdom of the spirits." She presented somewhat eloquently.
"I... What are we doing in here?" Link continued his quiz while he spotted bodies lying in the frozen ground. What looked like steam slowly escaped from some of the lifeless bodies. After they had squeezed themselves out of their late owners they slowly but gracefully gathered together and formed a circle. It sent shivers down Link's spine to watch them dance around.
Zelda noticed the waltz of the spirits too. A small retort escaped through her lips before any words did. "We are.. Hunting. Should I say it that way."
"Hunting?" Link repeated wondering the meaning behind her words.
"Hunting to get back what's mine. Hunting to bring back peace." Zelda cleared her previous sentence.
Link stared at the ground beneath at his feet after he was reminded about the events that took place just recently. He bit his teeth in order of not showing his severe sadness and the demons that plagued in his mind. "I see." He responded bluntly.
Zelda seemed to notice Link's agony as well. She placed her hand onto his warm shoulder and looked at him sympathy burning in her blue eyes. "I know you've been through alot, and I am truly sorry that life has handed all that sorrow to bear at one time. But you cannot let that misery take control over your life." She placed her other hand onto his shoulder and quite strongly pulled him towards her, "Now look at me." she spat, "You may not understand all of what is happening right now, and you don't need to, but deep down you know that this is now your destiny." she let go of his shoulders and turned around. "So do what you must." She left walking alongside the pathway.
Link stood still for a moment.
How.. How could someone be as divine as the enchantress that now was walking in front of him. She is like the gentle glow of the moon, cosmic particles of the stars surely dust line her veins. She must feel everything deeply, even though she doesn't like to show it. Her shell may be hard and at times unbreakable, but he knows, that it is forever guarding her tender soul. Surely it is harder to break something soft than rigid. The look in her eyes, she is far more real than anything he has ever felt before. Her mind must swim at a depth most would drown in. Something must've stuffed her benign nature to the very depths of her soul, bringing out the cold exterior of hers.Link quickly snapped back into reality. He shook his head and looked around. Zelda was still walking in front of him, now being quite far away, he sprinted after her. "Zelda! Wait up!" He yelled as he started to catch her.
"Oh, so you're coming after all? I should've expected as much." Zelda made a response without even a quick glance toward Link.
The silent pair walked a long way in the same pathway. The ambience was quite subdued. Neither did the overall look of the area change drastically. A few leafless trees were scattered around the area, bodies covered up most of the empty space, and their lonely spirits that were gathered around in many circles seemed to never stop their waltz. A thick but smooth haze was floating around the whole time.
