Chapter 1

(Y/N) POV

I felt the cold hard floor and groaned. Black noticed this and pounced on my face. The playful kitten then nuzzled his face into mine greeting me with a good morning. I stretched out my arms and legs while on the floor, then got up slowly so I wouldn't get lightheaded.

I looked at my phone and saw I missed 3 calls from Kikyo Zoldyck. I grabbed my phone and sighed heavily. What could she want at...7...no 9 am?

I unlocked my phone and called the insane lady. I didn't really like the way she treated her children. I'm just glad that she never was like that to me when I lived there for a while. I mean my family is REALLY close to the Zoldycks, so no complaining.

I speed dialed Kikyo, and heard her voice:

Kikyo: "(Y/N)?" 

"Good morning, Mrs. Zoldyck."

Kikyo: "I have an assignment for you and Illumi."

"I quit killing a long time ago please don-"

Kikyo: "You don't have to kill, even though you would have to if people get in the way. I need you to take the hunters exam."

"Why is that?"

Kikyo: "To get Killua back"

"Alright. Have a nice day"

I frowned and my face went grim. Killua apparently ran away, the poor kid had no freedom whatsoever. I didn't want to do it, but I had to or else my parents would punish me. I may be 24, but they could still have my older brothers kill me.

I looked at my phone and texted my boss to notify him I won't be working at the cafe for a while. I then opened the door to find my landlord, Saki.

Knock, knock.
"Saki?" I checked to see if she was there. "Hello, (Y/N). How's your fine morning?" an old lady in a red kimono that I recognized and loved came out of her office. I smiled and greeted her,"Good morning, Saki-san. I might not be here for a very long time and I was wondering if you could take care of Black for me." She gave a sweet old smile,"Of course, where are you going, if you don't mind me asking?" "I'm going to take the Hunter's Exam for family friends," I tried keeping a smile, but sadness were in my eyes. "It's alright. At least you're helping out friends," she kept the sweetness strong.

I hugged her,"Thank you so much." As you left, she pulled on your sleeve,"Take care of yourself out there. Don't leave forever. Black and I will miss you."

Normal POV

You then slung your bag full of things and rang Illumi.

"(Y/N)-chan?" His voice was laced with emotion. "Hey, I'm ready. Where do you want to meet up?" You questioned and then felt a pair of strong arms wrap around your neck. "Right here," he winked. "Ugh. You show too much emotion to me, it's weirddddd," you stuck your tongue out at him.

"Maybe I do. Remember? I grew up with you. Alsoooooo Kikyo wants me to marry youuuuuu," he flicked your nose as your cheeks heated up. You turned red and stammered,"I t-told you that I want to explore my options first."

"Well time is wasting," he took your hand and ran to the seaport. He went up to a man at a stand and blankly stated,"Two tickets for Dolle Harbor, please."

Illumi slapped his money in front of the man and turned to you with a smile,"I need a disguise so Kil wouldn't recognize me." You sighed, picked up one of his pins off of his chest, and stabbed it into his forehead. "You're an idiot. Also...don't you feel bad for Kil?" you complained.

He looked away sadly and then gave you his regular flat face,"I do, but it can't be helped. He's the heir and we need him back." 

You sighed and a boat nearby honked, waiting for people to board. "Shall we?" I raised an eyebrow at Illumi with his dull face that everyone else saw.

"Yes"

~Time Skip~

You two walked to a restaurant, but you pulled Illumi down an alleyway and took out all of his pins on his chest. He looked at you,"What? Why can't we go right now?" "Illumi, I thought you payed attention to everything," you got closer to him.

It took him a few seconds to finally get the picture. "Oh yeah, almost forgot the disguise!" He giggled and you just looked at him wondering why he was always a ditz when you were around.

Ever since he was little, he would always be too soft towards you. When Kikyo made you two fight, he would always slip up around you, even though with someone else, he would kill them perfectly in a heartbeat. However, now wasn't the best time for him to be like this.

You sighed and got near his face, feeling his hot breath. You didn't see him blush a little. You then inserted random pins in his face, and it changed him into some weird looking dude. You looked at him and he had a smile because of the needles.

You laughed a little,"Pfft Illumi, you look weird." You shuffled through your bag, and gave him a mirror. He looked in it and agreed with a flat tone,"I do, your fault, but I'm okay with it because you did this."

You shook it off and went down to the restaurant. You both got in the room and it went down. You entered the room and a smol bean man walked up to you and Illumi. You smiled as the bean said,"Welcome. Here are your tags, #300 and #301."

Illumi grabbed 301, and I grabbed 300. Illumi then turned to me and whispered,"Call me Gittarackur for my disguise name. I also have an associate here, he knows I'm supposed to be like this." You walked off with your hands on your nape, "Haiiiiii~." You looked around and most people seemed weak.

A fat guy came up to you with a drink in his hand,"Hiya. You look new. I'm Tonpa. It's my 35th time taking the exam. I hope you're thirsty." You gave him a death glare,"I don't intend on making friends" You grabbed the drink from him, and opened it. "Hey was it Tonpa?" You asked. "Y-Yes," His tone was laced with fear. You then quickly opened his mouth with one hand and poured the drink into his mouth with the other. He swallowed and you heard his stomach growl.

Others looked at you as Tonpa ran out. However, a stare you got grabbed your attention. You felt their aura and how strong it was. You turned to a clown looking man who gave you a sadistic smirk. You returned the smirk and put some headphones on.

Heyyyyyy he's pretty cu- (Y/N) STOP. YOU HAVE AN ASSIGNMENT. STOP OGLING OVER THAT CLOWN.

You snapped yourself out of those thoughts, and listened to some music before you heard a scream.

"When you bump into someone, you should apologise~," the clown man said to a guy who's arms were turning into flowers. You smirked at him and he noticed, so he just looked at you with blood lust and walked away.

You then got up and bumped into a small boy. You looked at him and apologized, but you realized how cute he was. "Smol boy, what's your name?" You asked him after apologizing. "'Smol boy'? I'm Gon, this is Kurapika and Leorio," he pointed to a blonde kid with some dumb thing on and a pervert Oreo. You smiled sweetly and waved,"I'm (Y/N). Nice to meet you. You seem like a nice boy. I'll group up with you guys for now."

You then chatted with them until there was a loud beep, then a guy with no mouth, light purple hair, and a huge black mustache came out. He then explained everything about the first phase of the Hunter's Exam and all of you started running.
