As I'm running around the city, following my gut, I start having a flashback to when I was little, Caiden, Adrien, and I where hanging out together and talking about what we wanted to be when we where older, Adrien said he wanted to be a famous detective, Caiden wanted to be a rock star. Me? I wanted to be the superhero. I've always wanted to. Today, I will be just that. Weather it kills me or not.

I stopped running when I got to this old dirt road leading to the abandoned mill, I ran inside. I stop in my tracks when I see Caiden tied to a chair with a loaded gun pointed to his head, one wrong anything and I could lose him forever. I decided right then what I should do. I just hope that he forgives me.

I pull out my phone and call the number he's been texting me from.

"I know what you want from me, and I realize now that you're hurting them because of me. Meet me on the local bridge, after you set them free. No deal if you don't let them go and make sure they are safe." With that I hang up.

I look at Caiden who's got his head bowed down and I am slightly upset over what I did, but I realize that I'm being what I've always wanted. I'm being a hero, if only to them.

I run to the meeting place that I instructed and stand in the middle of it, staring into the water below. My phone starts buzzing and I look at it. Two new text messages. "I'm safe baby, back home actually, is it over? What happened? Where are you?" I smile a bit, He's always cared about me, but I never did know how much he cared until he became mine.

"Hey, I don't know what's going on but I'm back home. Are you and Caiden okay? What happened to me?"

I smile at that text, knowing I got my best friend back. I just slide my phone back into my pocket and take a deep breath. The sun is starting to go down, and the sky is streaked with different hues of orange and pink, deep reds and purples. I take a step back from the ledge and stop. Hearing his car stop.

"I see you've let them go, that took bravery. You know, enough to finally face me without having anyone held hostage."

He frowned softly and then got a wicked look in his eyes. "So you know why I'm here. You finally remember what you did to me so many years ago. To my family."

I sighed, nodding softly. He had to know the truth though.

"Remember that night? You never let me explain you only blamed me. She came over to my house yes, but we where only good friends, she was being bullied so bad that it was making her depressed. She wanted help and since I was on the football team she asked me. I was never the cause of a single bruise and the guy she was around was never any good. She came to this bridge one night and he pushed her. She wanted me to come get her because he was scaring her. If you don't believe me I still have those messages she sent me."

"But he didn't confess, you didn't say anything!"

"The cops ruled it out as a suicide. He got off free and shortly after I went to go see him. He was scared of me and decided to drive away. I just wanted answers like you did."

He reached behind him and pulled out a .22 I just handed him my phone, a folder titled best friend caught his eye apparently because in a few seconds his eyes where watery. I know the texts are in that folder along with pictures of us all together.

He went to put the gun away and hand me my phone when the sound of a gun shot rang out among the darkening sky, putting the wind to silence for a second. My breathing caught and my eyes closed tightly. I don't know what happened but I was scared to look.

I slowly open my eyes and see that he's standing there in shock. I move my shaky hands around my body, checking for anything cold and came to the conclusion that I was okay. "What's wrong? You didn't shoot me."

"Yes I did.. You cant feel it? It was an accident! I swear!"

I look down and check my legs, sure enough there was a slight hole in one, he grazed me with the bullet but nothing to bad.

"No you didn't, I'm okay. I'll send you the pictures of us all so you can see her happy face. Just stop you're evil plan."

"O-okay... I will, I'm so sorry."

With that I was able to go home, and we where all okay, football was hard with a gash in my leg but I had a wonderful caretaker. As for Adrien and his guy, he was happy with the fact that we where all okay. He isn't with that guy anymore but he has become our friend. What can I say, We're all a bit crazy.
