Chapter Five: Why Me?

Kitty POV
Having a crush on someone can ruin you ALOT more than it should. If only he knew how I felt about him. Don't call me desperate, but it bothers me when I see people happy with their loved one. It's high school, dating is overrated.. It has gotten to the point where all my friends think I should get over it. How can I get over someone? Is that even possible? He's my friend. He's special to me. I won't forget the time we met.
During school today I avoided Artie. I wasn't trying to be mean, but I wanted to pretend it didn't happen.
During Lunch, Artie went up to me. We were able to talk to each other, although it was quite awkward. It felt good, but it crushed me to see him with someone else.

Artie's POV
Never in a million years would I ever thought Kitty liked me. I was always that disabled kid who did the glee club nothing more than that. I wasn't popular at all. It kinda bothered me about what happen during dinner. Kitty is my friend and I think she's beautiful and smart.
Tina, in the other hand, has been one of my friends who were always there for me. She didn't see me as that kid in the wheelchair. She saw something special in me.
I had a conversation with Kitty during lunch. I wheeled up to her. She seemed so happy to see me. Never saw her that happy before.

"Hey Kitty!"
"Artie! How are you?"
"Im Good! I just wanted to saw sorry about what happen the other day. I was so stupid about what was going on. Exams have been on my mind all day," I laughed it off.
"It's okay," She looked down at her food and I knew I had to do the right thing.
"Do you need a hug?" I asked her with my arms open.
She leaned over me and she gave me a big hug! I gently rubbed her back and told her that we could hang out after school. My plan worked! My goal was to be a good friend. Being a good friend who helped others out.
I didn't plan on disappointing Kitty at all! I'm not like that at all. Kitty is a member of the glee club and she deserves to be treated as family.
