As soon as we got in the back of the car, Spencer remained silent. I gave the directions to the driver and after a minute pause, he took off down the road. Both of us were drenched from the rain and annoyed greatly by this. He stayed close to the window, looking out at dark nothingness. "You feeling okay?" I asked quietly, looking at Spencer concerned. He nodded, continuing to look out into the inky rain. "Okay," I turned back to the window, "You know Patrick and Brendon have a bet about this whole thing, right?" Spencer's words came from nowhere. This shouldn't surprise me, anyone would be competitive about such. But Patrick doesn't gamble, nor would he do something this stupid for money. So, what convinced him? "They'd had this plan for years, " Spencer spoke, "Signed up years in advance, but they're partners kept chickening out: Andy, Joe, Pete, Ryan, Dallon, etc. We were the last option." I nodded, able to believe that. "I'm just surprised Patrick didn't tell me this." Spencer scoffed, leaning against the leather seat, "You will know soon enough." "Then why did you tell me?" I looked at him skeptically, but he fell into his seat as we neared our destination.
