I change and lay down in my bed. Lana is laying at my feet. I lie there in the darkness and I can't sleep. Everything I think about just reminds me of my mom. It has finally settled in that she is dead and gone.
I start sobbing and I can't stop. My mother was gone and she wasn't coming back. I was officially an orphan.
At sometime around 2:30 AM I finally fell asleep. I had the images of my mom and Summer lying on the ground dead. It was all my fault, so I was going to get the murderer.
I wake up at 6 and was restless, so I might as well get up. I take a shower and then get dressed. I take Lana downstairs and feed her, then she goes outside. I glance out the window and see yellow police tape all around my home.
I eat breakfast and then go back up to the attic. I lay down on my bed and stare at the ceiling. I have to talk to Edward, but be discreet about it. As I am planning I get a text from Summer.
Summer: Hey. I know you're not OK. SO much has happened, you just need a little time to realx. Let's go to that carnival at Oak Lake!
Me: I guess, Sure. I will come get you around 9:00 AM.
I look at my phone and its 7:52. I still had some time.
I get my shoes on then put my phone in my pocket. I walked downstairs and told my Grandma I would be going to the carnival. She gave me $20 and then I walked out the door. I started walking, past Summer's. I glance around and stop immediately. I saw Hayden across the street. He saw me too and he stopped. We just stared at eachother for a couple of minutes. I could see the sadness in his eyes. I looked at the ground and turned away. I started walking towards the Doctor's Office and a tear fell down my face.
I walk into the Doctor's Office and Edward is reading a chart or something.
"Oh hello Angelina. What can I do for you?" Edward asks.
"I was..uh... just wondering where you were when my mom.... was taken." I stuttered.
Edward eyes me suspiciously. "I was at my motel room asleep... may I ask why?" Edward asks.
"It's just... I was just wondering, well hoping, that you saw something, anything?" I lie. Edward believes it though.
"I'm sorry, I didn't." Edward sympathized.
I nod and walk out the door. Dangit! The motel cameras probably saw him go into his room, so it wasn't him. Zoe was right. Who could have done it?!
I was deep in thought and I started walking to Summer's house for the carnival.
