The room was silent.
Practically silent away.
The sound of the hands turning on the new sterling silver pocket watch kept going tick-tock-tick-tock.
Mehime blank, staring at the ceiling above her.
It couldn't have been a year, could it?
She blank again, garnet eyes wide, tired yet sleepless.
"One entire year." She thought to herself. It seemed only yesterday she had brought home that gorgeous, sterling silver pocket watch. A soft smile graced her lips. "And a lover, tenfold its beauty an value."
She looked over to the mop of copper hair beside her in the bed, coffee coloured ears twitching every now and again, the long foxy tail thumping.
The small smile grew a little warmer and Mehime slid over, cuddling into her girlfriend's back. She snickered to herself when the comatose fox attempted to bat her away.
"Mehime..." She groaned, groggily rolling over and blinking, electric blue eyes still as bright and as glowing as if she was wide awake. They shut just as quickly as they opened. "Go to sleep."
"I can't ." Mehime whispered back, putting her head against her girlfriends, their brown locks intertwining. She blinked, noticing small snores coming from the foxes muzzle.
"Darkflow."
She tapped her lovers shoulder.
"Darkflow wake up."
"Go back to sleep before I shock you." Her stern tone made Mehime chuckle.
"Alright, alright." Mehime giggled, sliding under Darkflow's arms, nuzzling into her pyjamas shirt. "You've got to hug me though." She said, her voice muffled by the fabric.
"I'll hug you till you stop breathing that's what I'll do."
Mehime giggled again, but noticed her arms enclose around her, holding her in that protective grip that she always did. As if Mehime would suddenly float away from her.
Mehime flushed, but a cute smile still on her maw. She closed her eyes, ears flattening and tail wagging, feeling safe an secure in Darkflow's arms.
Again it was silent.
Practically silent, anyway.
