Someone, Somewhere

Jenn Nixon’s POV

In one moment everything can change. Remember this as you go through your life. I couldn’t move, I couldn’t open my eyes; but I could hear everything going on around me. It’s terrifying and peaceful at the same time. The most recent memory I have is of the accident. My baby cousin decided to run into the road to retrieve a ball, and I ran out just in time to push him onto the sidewalk and get run over myself. After feeling my body crush under the stress, everything went black. I feel so exhausted; I need sleep. I let my mind drift me off to a dreamland.

V Sevani’s POV

I am seriously worried about Jenn; the doctors have no clue when she will wake up, or if she even will wake up. I paced around the hospital room taking in every delicate detail. Get well soon cards were piled on the windowsill, the air conditioning causing a few to fall to the tile floor. All of a sudden everything clicked; I knew a way that I could try to talk to her. I sat on a chair and leaned back in it, closing my eyes and slipping into a deep sleep.

Vampires have an affinity for dream walking; how come I didn’t think of it sooner? I concentrated on moving from my mind to hers, landing in a soft green field. I looked around and saw Jenn sitting under a willow tree. Her long hair was tied up in a ponytail with loose strands framing her face. It was all I could do not to run up and squeeze her to death.

“Jenn!” I called as I walked toward her.

“V?” Her tone questioning. I nodded and she ran up to me, hugging me as I swung her around in circles. She giggled wildly as I lightly placed her back on the ground. “I missed you! What’s going on?”

“You’re in a coma sweetie, we’ve all been waiting for you to wake up.” My tone was thick with sadness. These past few weeks were a living Hell for me.

“I-I am?” She scrunched up her nose and bit her lip. “How do I wake up? Wait, how the heck did you get inside my dream!?” She shot me a glare.

“Vampire, remember?” I pointed to myself as I spoke. She sighed and nodded.

“Of course, now what do I do?”

“Just concentrate on waking up, convince yourself that you are strong enough to do so, I know you are.”

“I’ll try.” She stood on her toes and kissed me softly. “I’ll see you on the other side V.” She smiled and I woke myself up.

Jenn’s POV

I am going to wake up if it kills me. I left my dream and was sent back into the dark. Come on Jenn you can do it wake up! I screamed in my brain. I kept concentrating on waking up but nothing happened.

“Come on baby you can do this.” I heard V encourage me. I fought and fought until suddenly…

V’s POV

Her eyes fluttered, sending my stomach and heart into knots. Then they opened to reveal her gorgeous eyes.

“Nurse! Nurse!” I yelled and took Jenn’s hand, kissing her forehead.

                                “Hi V.” Jenn’s voice merely a whisper.

“Hey beautiful, nice of you to join us.” I grinned.

“I love you.” She said and lost her voice.

“I love you too, more than you know.” I gazed down at her with loving eyes. “When you get out of here I will make you a vampire like me; nothing like this will ever happen again; I won’t lose you.”
