Harry POV
I wasn’t expecting it to burst into flames. Okay, I was but not that fast. I just wanted to cut class without “ruining” my reputation. I looked at Louis who gave me the signal to meet outside. People began to freak out and run outside. The fire and smoke were spreading fast and Mrs. Watson was too busy attending the girl that got injured when the flask exploded to notice.
“Everyone out!” I yelled, standing up and going over to the wall and pulling the fire alarm. I went to my locker with ease not worrying about a thing since everyone was outside wondering what happened. I picked up the bags with the drugs I needed for this afternoon's dealings. I was walking back towards the back exit by the science hall where my car was parked and the lads were waiting when I heard the yelling.
“No. Please! No. Mom! Dad!” I would’ve kept walking if I didn’t recognize the voice. It was Elle’s. I followed her screams into the burning chemistry room. The bookshelves were on fire now. I looked around the room and found her at the far end corner of the room, eyes shut close, hands over her ears, and there was a gash in her forehead.
I rushed over to her and picked her up and rushed out of there. I threw the door open and saw the lads waiting there for me. When they saw me they rushed over. Niall took Elle, and Louis took my bag.
“What happened?” Liam asked. Niall was sitting on the ground, Elle’s head on his lap while Zayn was cleaning the wound in her forehead and bandaging it. She was passed out.
“I don’t know. I was about to come here to meet you when I heard her scream something about her parents. She looked panicked.” I said. It was quiet for a moment. We all just stared at her.
“Lads, we have to go.” Liam said.
“What are we doing with her?” Louis asked, looking up at me since she was my assignment.
“We’re leaving her here.” I said, moving forward to pick her up. She can’t know about the drugs. She can’t know who we really are. I walked over to the picnic table that was outside by a big tree and laid her underneath the shadows the tree provided before I walked away.
Elle POV
I felt like I was being carried and then laid down on a cool surface. I opened my eyes and saw green above me. A tree. I sat up slowly, confused as to why I was outside. I heard a car door slam and looked to my right. A tall guy with brown hair was walking away while taking off his brown vest and messing up his hair. I watched him get in the car and drive away behind another car. I watched until long after he disappeared, when Ken and Rita rushed over to me with worried expressions on their faces.
“OMG, Elle! Where have you been? What happened? We’ve been worried sick? How are you feeling? What happened to your forehead?” They bombarded me with questions but the last one caught my attention. My hand flew to my forehead and I winced when I touched it.
“Ouch.”
“So what happened?”
“I don’t know. The fire started and then…I don’t know.” I looked at Ken. She’d understand. I had panicked and I didn’t want to talk about it. “I woke up here though.” I didn’t want to tell them about Marcel though. What was he doing? Who was in the car with him? What's going on?
“That’s weird.” Rita commented bringing me back to reality. I just nodded not really knowing what else to say. I needed to clear my head though. I can't risk losing it like that again. I could've died in there.
"Earth to Elle?" I shook my head and looked up, Ken was waving her arms in front of my face.
"What?"
"I asked you if you wanted to go home? I think you need to speak with Dad about-" I interrupted her there.
"I'm sorry Ken but I'd rather walk today. I need to clear my head before I go home." I said, standing up. I got a little dizzy but nothing I couldn't handle. "I'll see you later." I didn't look at them as I waved walking away.
