So, the tabbing is messed-up 'cause I was still figuring out how to write tabbed in Word and still have it tabbed in Wattpad. Now, I know how, so the next chapter would be better, I guess. Patience, dear. I think this story has something. :D

“Nolan?” I said, more nervously now.
“Yeah, sorry.” He said quietly.
I stopped and faced him; I could barely make out his outline in the dark. “Why are you apologizing?”
“It was just…it wasn’t me you want.”
I laughed. Real laugh. “You’re apologizing because I took your hand by mistake?”
I imagined his eyebrows furrow, like he was computing a logical solution of why I was acting like an idiot, stopping and laughing at him in the middle of a trip inside a haunted maze. That made me laugh harder. But I found myself surprised when he laughed with me. I pulled him aside and groped for something we can sit on.
“Would I appear any crazier to you if we sit for a while? My legs are numb because of the cold.”
“No. I’m tired myself.”
I didn’t risk letting go of his hand, I don’t want to walk in alone in this dark place full of fake ghosts and creepy sound-effects.
“Besides, I need some time rehearsing my line to Aquila justifying about how on earth did I end up with her date.”
“Aquila’s nice.” He said distantly.
“Do you like her?” I was amazed at myself of how easily I let the question go.
“Yes.” After a moment of not answering.
I smiled. Yes. So black and white. No buts, no because, just plain yes. “You know what, I was wrong about you. And as usual, Aquila was right.”
“What about me?”
“Well—”
“Stay here a second more and stay here forever.” Said a monster in my ear.
“Oh my gosh!!” I shrieked and cackled, jolting up and we started for the exit again. I almost fell a few of times, but Nolan always pulled me before I could, laughing with me.
“You have made it to the end.” Said the last ghost in a glow-in-the-dark suit.
We pushed our way out and stumbled to the ground. I gripped my stomach and rolled to the wet grass, laughing my ass out. “That was so much fun!”
I heard Nolan gasp for air as he stood up. He offered his hand to me, face red and eyes wet. “I want to do that again!”
“Um, hello? Earth to Maddison Craig.” Aquila said, one eyebrow raised, as if I had just gone insane, which is probably true.
“Oh my gosh, Aquila, I’m so sorry!” I blurted as I walked towards her, all four of them were already there. “I was supposed to take Logan’s hand but I accidentally grabbed Nolan’s. Don’t be mad at me.”
Aquila chuckled, “Slow down there, Maddi, who’s mad?”
“What took you so long, Mads?” Tanessa asked. “We started worrying about you.”
“Wait. You were supposed to take his hand?” Hearing Austin and remembering he was there and what happened earlier brought gloom on me again.
