Hearts That Beat

Rip my heart out,

Stomp on it with all your might.

You cannot cause it to hate you,

Nor will you shatter it's love.

You cause it to shudder,

But the anguish you cause isn't enough.

I will not hate you as long as I live,

All I can and will do is continue to give.

Give my love, my life, my breath.

Give everything that I can and avoid the things I can't.

My love is stronger than ten thousand pounds,

And my heart has no lock, it needs no key to gain its contents.

I am not guarded, nor do I hide feelings.

Yet this is the cause for my anxiety.

I care too much, and cannot explain,

The unspeakable tortures that love claws in my brain.
